RE: 2021 Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition | PH Review
Discussion
Lovely looking thing from the outside. I’m not sure about the spoiler, it’s a tad cringe.
As for the inside, controversial opinion… I’ll take all those buttons all day long over an iPad screen glued to the dash. Much more intuitive when on the move.
If my lotto ticket drops in this weekend, it’s a car that would certainly be on the list of possibles.

Whoops, I'm mistaken.
A new Aston Martin! Awesome. Amazing.
Why have you posted the same thing on an AM and Ferrari article ? Whoops, I'm mistaken.

I must be the only person on PH who likes the look of this car.
I think it is a stunning looking car, that is indisputable! But for the money, a lot of money, and the engineering that has been poured into making this as fast as possible, the rear wing looks just a bit ordinary, generic. Something slightly more bespoke looking could have been engineered.
Just over 15 years ago i tried to do a "GT3" style V8V Vantage whilst at Prodrive, complete with big rear wing:
That ^^^ car which incidentally was by far the best V8V i've ever driven in terms of chassis setup, was considered "far to much thank you" and kiboshed by senior AML management. AML are such a conservative company it's taken them this long to even attempt to meet Porsche at it's own game.......

While I'm not a huge fan of the rear with, it wouldn't put me off buying one.
I think the Vantage looks far better without all the extra extensions in the front and rear bumpers like the early cars had.
But that interior is a huge problem for me. I personally think it looks awful. I'm sure one sat inside it'd look feel a lot better, but it's not great.

I think there is an argument for these type of cars being some of the best things you can buy now. You either have to go for a really slow but fun car so you can thrash the nuts off it all the time everywhere OR a big V8, lots of noise and looking a little silly, possibly improved even more if the tail is a little loose. This way you can still drive around slowly laughing constantly and not taking yourself too seriously.
It's much more fun than a hugely capable serious car that you drive around feeling like you have to be sensible because it's a serious motor vehicle. It's also why I like the F type and the Mustang... and any Abarth... Funny all the time

I think the issue with the rear wing is that it looks incongruous against the rest of the car which is standard bar matt paint, a stripe and big wheels. They needed to go further with the body modifications elsewhere.
A completely standard 911 Carrera wearing a GT3 RS rear wing would look just as bad. Add all the GT3 RS Body addenda, vents, ducts etc and suddenly it works (granted, the racecar for the road look isnt everyones cup of tea).
