It’s more my sort of thing than the Emira is too, but then they aren’t meant to be the same sort of thing. This is aiming at a niche Lotus has vacated. Prefer this to anything from Porsche or Alpine on the same basis.
At different price points I'd choose different cars, at this price point I can't see much else as interesting, bang for buck is off the charts if this is your bag - you get a lot of attention to detail for nowt.Gimme double the money and you'd see me in an Emira V6, half it and I'd probably be in something vintage like a Marcos or a Europa, just to be ornery

I agree with others, the wheels are out of place with the overall styling of the car but it's a nice thing if you like the retro/derivative look
Absolutely no way would I pick it over an Emira or A110 though as I suspect, lovely though it is, it will still feel like a kit car.
The reviews by numerous motoring journalists suggest otherwise and the fit / finish on the red car on display (think this is going to be the main demo car) at the Open Day last Saturday was very impressive, not perfect but I'd say better than my Tuscan and not far off my wifes VantageAbsolutely no way would I pick it over an Emira or A110 though as I suspect, lovely though it is, it will still feel like a kit car.

So did the Elise, of course.I don't think that the wheels are the best choice, either, but I'm sure they'd be happy to spec. whatever aftermarket alloys you want, at those production numbers.
I was really making comment on some posters who appeared to compared it with an Emira or A110 as a potential alternative choice.

I differentiate between sparse, functional, raw etc and kit car. I don’t see an Elise as kit car either.
We were saying that it was like a kit car, not that it was one.Personally, I don't class that as a pejorative: I liked the fact that the S1 Elise was built to a similar ethos (I've owned two of them). I own two kit cars at present (one of them - a Ginetta G15 - probably as close as you'll get to being the historic equivalent of the Vertige). I very much enjoy both of them, because they are about as sparse, functional and raw as you can get.
Perversely, perhaps, I'd never buy something like an A110 because, as focused as it is by mainstream production car standards, the driving experience is just a bit too soft and filtered to serve as a second car that's there specifically for fun driving.

I looked at the 1st page of this , the negativity and ugly car posts are unbelievable .
I still think it's a great looking thing ,would love one but very short of ££££££££££
Think beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I love 60's sports / racing cars and this has references to cars from that era, I also do not think images do it any favours, much prettier in the metal / plasticI still think it's a great looking thing ,would love one but very short of ££££££££££

The Alpine is nice, but the box puts me off.
The Emira is just very expensive for what you get.

I guess no update from PH this year, but for 2024 they have too, with video and all, come on PH its a real British sport car for the mass (not that expensive) lightweight and with butterfly doors.
For lands like the Netherlands they should come with a different base engine, it can still be a 2.o zetec or ford based engine, but not the 235 Co2/gr/km engine as they have now, that means a big price tax on them, see overview.
But say a 2.0 engine base with around 150 Co2/gr/km and then once payed tax a owner ken keep it like that or put a supercharger on or turbo or tune it outside the BPM tax Co2 gr/km.
say such 143 gr/km 2.0 for example, just for the Dutch BPM/Tax Co2 per gr/km example I found on the web>
here the BMM (over the normal tax/BTW 21%)
BPM/Co2 bij 400 g/km = 127.300,-euro
BPM/Co2 bij 300 g/km = 78.500,-euro
BPM/C02 bij 200 g/km = 29.700,-euro
BPM/Co2 bij 190 g/km = 24.802,-euro
BPM/Co2 bij 180 g/km = 19.922,-euro
BPM/Co2 bij 170 g/km = 15.042.-euro
BPM/Co2 bij 160 g/km = 11.382,-euro
BMM/Co2 bij 150 g/km = 8.950,-euro
BPM/Co2 bij 100 g/km = 1.800,-euro
Wells Vertige now 235 g/km = 46.762,-euro BPM/Co2 g/km ex 21% BTW and ex the Car price.
thats tax alone (BPM and the BTW 21%) = about 2 Wells Vertige in another country.
So you can see why say such 2.0 with just 143 or 150 g/km Co2 is about 38.000,-euro less stealing extra Tax.
