One minor detail that puzzles me is why no rear wiper on the saloons?
Prefer the hatch back anyway.
Saloon cars traditionally do not have rear wipers...even if sometimes I wish they did.Prefer the hatch back anyway.
Its all to do with airflow over and around the vehicle. A hatchback obviously has the rear window at the back of the car, and have you noticed how the back of a hatchback usually attracts the most dirt?
The rear window on a saloon is not at the back of the car and tends not to attract as much dirt.
The saloon has always been the far nicer and more stylish vesion of the A3, and looks even better with S/RS models.
Thinking back to the bullst we used to spurt about why the FN2 civic didn't have a rear wiper when working @ honda
"the rear split window is designed in such a way that water doesn't obscure the rear window so you don't need one, which makes it lighter, cheaper and less things to do wrong.."
oooh, that's clever came the satisfied response, 95% of the time

If you'd said "the rear split window is designed in such a way that you can't see squat out of it anyway, so what does it matter if it's got rain all over it?" you might have been on to something. Limpet said:

No, it's actually quite clever, it is at just the right height so that you don't get blinded by the lights of the car behind...
which also translates to, "you'll never be able to tell what kind of car is behind you because you'll have zero visibility of the front grill, so just assume its a marked traffic car"

My problem is that I'm a bit of an engine snob, so that straight away stops me from buying the GR Yaris to be fair. I'm sure that it is a great car(and everyone seems to wax lyrical about it), but I personally just can't get past the engine. The thought of a small capacity 3 cylinder engine just doesn't get my juices flowing enough.
I thought the engine was surprisingly good!Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
