I'd never read the origin of this quote, reading of a few pages of that gave me some good laughs smile Thanks

On a less frivolous note, it does show what good value the Emira is at 60k when one of these will be close to that with a few options.
Not really sure you can compare the VFM of two cars that do completely different things...

Hoped they'd work on a more rear-bias quattro 4WD system, hell they added 'drift mode' to the bloody golf R.

But no. Enjoy your mostly FWD hot hatch
This has drift mode, and the chassis tweaks to be more dynamic, but this was covered more in the first press release
Thanks for the correction - must've missed that first press release. At least they're trying to make these a bit more dynamic!
Literally says about the drift mode on the first paragraph of this article, bud. wink Maybe it was the 'is it an e-tron GT or is it an RS3' nose that distracted you. Or the 'nobody with £50k+ is going to choose this' green paintwork...you'd be forgiven for skipping the text. biggrin

Needs bigger grills biggrin

Man that is ugly - becoming its own caricature ala M4. These grills are just getting ridiculous - plastic 'styling' with zero actual cooling going on.

Usually "black pack" is an option...here is there a "remove black pack" for the front grill?

How does this move the game on from the previous generation, other than the drift mode?

Did the old RS3's game really need moving on, other than making it much less understeery?

Yep, the BHP wars are over. Audi have surely realsied you dont need more than 400 bhp in a hot hatch, a sub 4 second time to 60 is adequate, so they have focused on the feel and handling. Great.

Yeah there was a lot of TL;DR in that article. Skim read most of it!

Seems a pretty capable car, though I'd say less attractive than the current generation - too many fake vents.

Of course the saloon is better looking and the one you'd get, otherwise it looks a bit too much like you paid £53k for a golf.

At least better than BMW's current efforts biggrin

A FWD TT at that. Pretty happy with it too. The quattro extra did seem a bit of a scam to me 'FWD until you lose traction' .... Kinda glad I didn't get it at the time when I knew less about it.

And there’s nothing wrong with them at all, it just makes the comment about the RS3 a bit strange. You’re criticizing it for being like your car.

The wife wants a new front door so I’m tempted to get one of these as within a few weeks the current one will be kicked in to pinch the car.
Will also give me a license to drive like an absolute bell end in all built up areas like the rest of the people who seem to own RS3s around here.

If you tried really hard, you could generalise even more! wink

You should encourage the local bellends to upgrade - if the new RS3 is anything like the new RS6 one of my neighbours has, it sounds like....erm...nothing.

They will still drive like bellends (in your experience), but at least it won't be accompanied by the previous generation's farts and blurps. Just the uninspiring sound of 'some engine'. wink

Yes agreed they do different things, I just think that it emphasises how well lotus have done to reach that price point as the economies of scale and platform and parts sharing that Audi has the benefit of for this car is huge.
