Whatever your opinion on these cars, they are certainly no more "tedious" than the umpteenth $2m hypercar that probably won't ever get built that often features on these pages!

Ditto and a far more evocative trip down memory lane.

You know what? It’s a laugh! Brilliant show, I will definitely go next year. I bet everyone will talk to anyone.

How good is that.
Several school rides. Granada, driven constantly at 35mph and the auto box continually shifting between 2nd and 3rd. Hilman Imp, we had to push up the incline to the owners house, Rover P1.
Distinctive and functional designs....mostly.

Do you know what? I think I’m totally with you on this. Given the choice between this show or a show with all the latest hypercars I think I’d chose this one. Hypercars are converging increasingly and I’m probably too old now to tell them apart. These cars, however, would excite me - cars from an analogue era when the designs were so different from one another. I’ll be there next year.

I had my Orion picked for the concours and had a fabulous time talking to people all day about it. It is without doubt the best show of the year. Some unbelievably rare cars which were common place many a year ago. Give me a show like this than a supercar show any day.

The Fiat Superstrada... yes please! Possibly the only one left on UK roads, yet so little appreciation - belongs at this festival for sure.

Well this is a breath of fresh air in the world of car shows.
So glad it exists, and it looks like fun (fair play to the Citroen guys for going all-in with their clothing).

Festival of the Unexceptional looks unmissable.

Add me to the list too. Love the idea of this show, have never been before but definitely plan to visit in future. Looks like a proper good day out and I really appreciate the efforts of all those that keep these cars on the roads and in such good condition. Must be a real labour of love sometimes.

I'm loving the picture showing the group of men gathering around the one good looking lady that was in attendance.

I live 20 minutes away and didn't realise it was on otherwise i'd have gone. I've got the urge for a Rover or Mk3 Escort 1.3 L

Ha, ha, yes it was. We were both wearing them - I had gone for the short denim shorts option. Thankfully you can’t see me. Paul did look amazing. Thanks for the comments on the GS. It is a 15k from new, never been apart, welded or sprayed car. It is a very lovely thing and a pleasure to drive there and back. My Dad had GSs when I was young, and I learnt to drive in one so I might be a smidgen biased.
Was the guy in the brown leather jacket in the next picture (no 9) also in 70s period garb? IE the chap marvelling at the freshly cleaned sidewalls on the red Cavalier (Mrs AMA learnt to drive in one of these).

Fab show - looking to go next year. It seemed like a long drive from the South West this time with the (car mad) kids in tow. We had a blue Citroen GS when I was a kid. I recall that my older brothers struggled for ages to get the first front wheel off when changing the brake pads, only to find that they were' in-board'. rolleyes

Hoping to see the others Citroens we've owned when we attend (2CV, 3 AXs, BX, CX). Surely there's room for an AMI8 in my life...... scratchchin

That looks a great show to see! Loving the Volvo 340 in the main pic. Had one for a few years in the early 90s. It was an absolute heap, but I loved it. Since I had to drive down dark roads at night quite often and the headlights were poor, I put a light bar on the grill with 4 big spots. It looked really stupid, but when I switched them on (and before the fuse holder melted many times) it was like daylight. Made it much easier to use all of that roaring 70hp from the 1.4. Actually, I made a DIY cold air intake for it so I'm pretty sure it actually put out 68hp. I even had the louvres over the back window so it was extra racy looking.

I agree with the other posters, this is way more interesting than hypercars.
