Genuinely curious who'd spend £££ over list for this instead of buying a G wagon
I’d have this over a G-wagon any day.

If money was no object, I’d be walking past the Merc dealer and straight into the Jeep dealership.

Glorious!
absolutely this ^^^.

Is it the 'best' performance SUV out there? Of course not. Is it the best off-roader? Nowhere near, I suspect it's quite possibly the worst off-roaders ever made. And yet - I'd have one of them in a second
Same. Fabulous thing.

Me too , sadly the G wagon isn’t what it once was !
It’s like all the tat added and a huge price ,
Sad when you can remember when German cars were practical and well made .

I think you’re getting it mixed up with a p38 !!
the diesel wouldn’t pull the skin of a rice pudding and the V8 wouldn’t go past a filling station ,
And had almost all the power of a cheep lawnmower.
Oh and Taxi !!!
No, I’m certainly not. I hang my head in shame and confess I have a P38 (as well as other, much better vehicles)
Range Rovers are called off roaders because they are always off the road, broken or being fixed. After a Classic and a P38 I flirted with the next incarnation but my neighbours spent more months with specialists than it did on the road so for me the realisation was that things hadn’t got better (no idea about the latest iteration though)
I’m not sure what the dealer that is selling this is on but they really news to halve the doseage
Explains a lot it’s been downhill since the classic RR IMHO !!

So about same power to weight as Stelvio QF but doesn’t do corners as well?

I would think a half reasonable driver could show most things a clean pair of heels in one of these hehe

20 mpg, half that I reckon lol
I thought the same too! thumbup

No chance is that ever doing 20 mpg for sure! I only ever used to get 12 mpg on my commute in my E53 X5 4.8iS...and that only had a 4.8 V8 and 360 bhp in comparison.

There is one on Autotrader that’s a year newer with less mileage for cheaper.

Third paragraph says it all. It's crap and really sums up the source of the SUV.......
The Terrahawk then.

Top of my lottery win list.

Although a GLC63 kept up just fine in a Carwow drag race.

I've just watched a video between an M5 CS and a Charger Hellcat red eye...the m5 was well down on power, but quicker and the better car. I'll take the charger please.

Not always about having the 'best'

Having had one in the US as a rental car for a week, I can say they're immense fun. Driving down a 6+ straight mile stretch of empty Route 66, fingers crossed there were no hidden Rozzers (there weren't), I bailed out at 140mph, which came up very quickly. And the whistle coming out from the engine as you're flooring it was genuinely smile-inducing. Would I have one in the UK? Well, I considered it, except there just weren't any around - and now I know why given the number of imports. Went for a Levante Trofeo instead. Equally genuinely a lot of fun and a bit different.

Comparing the Trackhawk to a G wagon is ridiculous- its not like you're going to be assured of top notch service from the dealer, you're going to almost inevitably have the drug dealer look (do any G's exist without this?), but I guess you will fit in on the Surrey school run to the private school. At least this has something different about it.

I didn't realise how rare these were.

There is a white one that lives near me and the owner is always gunning it, he must have rather deep pockets!

Sounds awesome and looks totally comical for something so big to be moving so quickly. It's not my cup of tea, but I do love the theatre of it!

The only modern cars that I actually want to own - v8 Mustang and this.

I keep looking for a v8 GC to replace my diesel one, so far nothing within 200 miles that doesn't have a huge mot fail list in its recent history.

I’ve been waiting patiently for these to depreciate to a level I could justify buying one. I think now I’ll go for a supercharged SRT8.

Bang for the buck and the likelihood of keepin' on keepin' on for many years makes this left field choice perhaps my ultimate fast SUV. Ridiculous in its ridiculousness!!

I own the only (according to howmanyleft.com) WK2 Overland 5.7 Hemi registered in the UK. It's no rocket ship, but progress is effortless and the V8 has loads of character. It's refined, comfortable and feels well built. Everything works. Only does about 16mpg, but it has LPG which lessens the financial hit.

I dont know if it is still policy but when I was working at a Jeep dealer we did a training day at HQ in MK. One of the things I found out is that every Jeep is / was "trail rated" and, memory may be a little rusty, but they have to be able to get along the Rubicon Trail, which required a certain degree of competence. Probably have to change to different tyres but that is fair enough. I think the drivetrain underpinning it would probably be fairly competent.
