A Corvette has been on my bucket list for a while. Had this 8 weeks now. 2019MY C7 Grandsport. Not quite as powerful as C6 Z06 but more than adequate. The satnav is better than in the modern Lexus. On full chat, it sounds nice and loud.

Do you track one of these mate? I was wondering how well they might stand up to a good amount of track use?
There are many hundreds of them used on track in the States, they stand up well, although those used in warmer locations will usually need uprated oil cooling for extended runs. Standard brakes with decent pads are 'ok', but are regularly upgraded to Wilwood/AP.My lowly C6 base model has so far survived plenty of track use with few issues.

Overall, if a C6, then a Grandsport. Same wide body, much more reliable engine.
Indeed, but as a man who is on the look out for one, get ready to import one yourself, there’s currently zero C6 Grand Sports registered in the UK.There's not very many of them in the UK either. I've been watching the market since 2019. I've only seen 5 advertised on PH and Autotrader if memory serves me right. 3 of them have been red as well which my l least favourite colour after yellow for these.

Rather have V8 f type any day
Very different cars ones a GT (a very good one) & the other is a full on drivers car.But I'm pretty sure you'd already sussed that one out.
We had a base model c6 convertible with the 430 bhp engine for a couple of weeks in california. A wonderful car. drove lovely, sounded great, really practical, enjoyed every minute of the experience. I know it was not a Z06, nor the coupe, but could definately live with the one we had, as a daily driver.
Awesome car. Amercian journos and Youtube guys pretty much always have this on lists of value-for-money performance. Even with slightly inflated UK pricing, there’s pretty much nothing else that’s better fun for the cash.
Oh, and it’s a seven litre, naturally aspirated V8, with three pedals and a stick in the middle. Buy now, before they all go away forever! #SaveTheV8s

I part exchanged an SL 55 for a C6 Zo6 back in the day.
The Merc was constantly throwing up one fault after another and after it failed to proceed one day, enough was enough and I went back to owning a Corvette again ( I had a C5 and a C6 before owning the Merc)
Dare I say it I found the Merc a tad boring and .it was great to get behind the wheel of a Vette again.
It behaved faultlessly during my three years of ownership and I only passed it on to a new owner when I upgraded to a C7 Zo6.
A great car . Not as well screwed together as the Merc ,and the gear change was nt the best ,but all was forgiven when you got behind the wheel.

My question was driven by the oddity (to me, at least) of recording engine (crank) horsepower, using a device that measures wheel horsepower. I'm assuming that some fangled reverse-calculation is performed to arrive at that value...
That's exactly the right question to be asking and the correct answer. I don't give much weight to these dyno stats because they're usually printed by people who have a vested interest in making the owner feel good about the cash they've spent on modifications of one sort or another. voram said:

I think dynos are a good barometer of BHP my cars have been across 4-5 different dynos over the years & there's been a 8-12 bhp swing between them. When I have any work done on my stuff I tend to take them back to my local dyno (who don't do any work on them) & I find it a very good barometer.

If I was rich enough, that would be in my garage in a heartbeat.
Lovely and so different to every other bore on the road these days.

Coincidentally, saw one today. I just love the V8 rumble. There's a couple of Plymouth's around my area, very loud, very rumbly and very spine tingly
But this model Corvette is just the peak: it's simplicity and pure design. Yes very desirable.

So is the dyno sheet you posted actually the wheel figure direct from the dyno, or a calculated crank figure based on their recorded wheel figure? I'm guessing Surrey's Rolling Road would have recorded a whp figure of around 450bhp for a standard engine (based on the manufacturers crank figure of 505bhp), so if this was their wheel figure straight off the dyno, then a 25% uplift in power is a pretty bloody good return for an N/A engine!!!! Any idea of what mods were done?Oh dear. The irony (sic) was lost on many. So "give him six, he's from East Anglia ISN'T out of order and an inappropriate post on the forum?!. Don't worry - none taken, mate. And yes, I was 18. "Under 18" comments from one of the posts? Try 51 and repeatedly shot, fragged and generally dicked about in various theatres. I owned a Z06 for 3 months (once able to drive it), and my comments still stand. And some of my best mates are, and proudly "Re$&*cks". Sorry if I scuffed your Sparcos! Glad you don't need top cover for Le Mans.........

You must go to some rough theatres. Try the Theatre Royal in Norwich; it's a little more genteel. Still, worse happened to Abraham Lincoln...

You can hardly complain at the digs aimed in your direction when you were poking fun/abuse at people's choices. Fair enough the plastic fantastic isn't for you - great, not everyone likes every car.
