Wokingham area - 2 local Shell's out of V-Power and adjacent BP out of Super as of Saturday.....V-Power towards Bracknell was OK though.

I took my Ferrari 308 out yesterday afternoon to fill up. My first stop, Shell Hayle, were out of V Power. Then I tried Texaco but that's only 97 and unsure if E5. Morrisons next and no premium fuel at all. Finally I heard Tesco Penzance had a good supply. The guy on the counter seemed well informed on the subject and mentioned everyone was after the premium stuff instead of the 'new watered down rubbish' .

The 308 appreciated the Tesco stuff too as it seemed to go better than ever. Better even than on V Power.

No issues round here in Kent, everything is available, Shell, Esso, BP, Tesco, all the high octane stuff for both petrol and diesel.

Last night I went to 3 local (I'm in Essex) BP & Shell petrol stations, all without any unleaded. The 4th (slightly out of the way) BP had all fuel types.

So there you go OP, some places have it and some don't.

Anecdotally, everything seems to run best on the Tesco stuff.

The pump should say on it whether it's E5 or whatever. 97 ron is essentially super unleaded so should be E5.

Doesn't seem to be an issue up North in my experience so far, but yesterday I was down South to collect some parts and near Cambridge I reached a Shell that had only 95 ron available. Huffing and puffing I stuck a fiver in the car and crawled to the next Shell. Here they were out of everything except two V-Power pumps! Absolute nightmare when your tank is literally empty laugh

No momentum 99 in Shorpe or Doncaster. Very problematic for a tuned car

Absolutely.

I foolishly let the family bus run very low and trawling Shell garages @ 10-15mpg around urban areas when you've got about 3-5 litres really isn't ideal.

Tesco at the Meadows has had Momentum 99 RON for months, and it is way cheaper than V-Power!

Thanks. That one is miles away from me - my nearest Tesco with a petrol station is Napier Road, Reading, or the other side of Wokingham, the former being a sod to get to, but I'll maybe give one of those a go next time.

There is a widespread shortage of fuel at the pumps. Has been for weeks. Shell is particularly acute. Panic buying isn't helping.
Shortage of delivery drivers due to dire salaries.

Thought they earned loads but a bit miserable being in a cab day and night.

£20+ per hour according to a local friend and that's just for normal class 1, I imagine the tanker drivers will be on more with it being a hazardous product.

Third time lucky trying to get super unleaded (car is remapped so don’t want to use normal stuff). Tesco out of stock, local Esso garage out of stock. Ended up going to motorway service and paid £1.559 for V power. Brutal.

Diesel is apparently where the real issue is. You might think this isn't a problem for you as you run on petrol, or even electric, but diesel powers all the trucks that supply everything that we all need.

BP doesn’t employ any HGV drivers directly, it outsources deliveries to Hoyer, an independent haulier.
Part of their own problem. You reap what you sow, and plenty of companies are seeing a bountiful harvest right about now wink

The problem is too few drivers, they would have the same issue if they employed their own drivers.
