That is strong money for a cat D.Civic's are nice however
Wasn't sure whether to post this here or in the barge thread - I'm very taken with this 523 estate https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202206217...
Apart from not being an auto, it's got a fantastic spec - what are the manual boxes like on the e61s?

The MOT History is spot on tbh. It’s had £700 worth of work, new tyres all round, brake pads, discs battery, alternator, thermostat, new brake pipes, wax oyxl. He’s asking £2500 on a 04 it’s a Contemporary SE with every extra on it. It’s from a private seller too.
I appreciate it's all subjective... but that's not a shed. Not only is it £2500 but it also looks like a rather pampered example. I agree a shed need not be scrap value or aconpmete banger, but there's also an upper boundary too and that thing exceeds it and then some. Davie said:

I’m not saying that £2500 is shed value. To some it might be. It’s a car that someone recommend to me, as it’s local and it’s been well looked after. I couldn't be arsed back tracking several pages to get the gist of what's going on, but I fear I may need to as I went on holiday, came back to catch up on the shed thread and I'm confused as to where it's gone!
I did however saymany many pages ago, shedding is subjective... for some a 2009 RS6 Avant may be the shed of the fleet, but only if its run with shed ethos in mind. So yes, if you bought that River and proceeded to run it with minimal cares given, then it's shedding.
But on the face of it, it doesn't strike me as a shed... but again there's always the opposing ends of the argument.

I'll save you the bother of reading it all, the thread has lost it's way.I did however saymany many pages ago, shedding is subjective... for some a 2009 RS6 Avant may be the shed of the fleet, but only if its run with shed ethos in mind. And it isn't a hatchback or estate, which is what you definitely want.

Yes I agree the thread has gone off course recently, some got obsessed with posting as many cars as they could find under £1500 and others, I feel, just enjoyed the attention of people responding to their requests for opinions but the goodwill has certainly ran out.
I look forward to reading bearmans posts as I find his business model interesting and he also has a lot of knowledge of cars in shed budget. I enjoy reading about peoples mot passes, length of ownership and their genuine enjoyment from running a car for cash rather than on finance.
This is my favourite thread and I would be gutted to see it disappear so, can we try to get back on track so I have something to read while having a poo!

The clue is in the title but having read back ten pages, I think we've definitely veered off track somewhat of late and it's become more an exercise in posting links, most of which seem to be missing the shed contender target or it's bickering about irrelevant stuff. On which note, I think for wannabe sheddists, read, learn and by all means ask but maybe a "What Car?" post in "Car Buying" would be better than filling several pages with links. Then, go buy something and come back and join in with the comradeship once your new shed is parked outside. Or whilst you await recovery from the side of the M6 as the gaffa tape and cable ties bodge didn't get you home.
