Had a little chase up the motorway on Monday night with one of these but he was a bit banzai because it was raining quite a bit so I got sensible and backed off, he clearly had a large wallet and larger knackers.

Beats the Kia sorrento that passed me at about 120mph on Tuesday morning being chased by the police.

Great motor, fantastic engine and a sure-fire future classic.

Personally, I prefer the looks of the wagon or saloon over the coupe.

What do these have in common (chassis, body, interior etc) with a C class coupe? I've just bought my first ever Merc (C220d AMG Sport - 2013MY) and the interior looks identical . . . and the exterior doesnt look too far off either (shared platform obviously between the different versions, c180, c200, c220 etc etc right up to the c63)

I assume (other than engine and gearbox) that there are a ton of enhancements on a c63 over a boggo coupe like mine? Did Merc actually release any info on what gets upgraded from model-to-model?
Bonnet is about 3 inches longer to hold the V8.

Nice car but as others have implied over priced. You could get one for under £30k last year. The market is strong but not that strong...

Nice, lose the stripes and silver wheels though.

The 507 is a fantastic car, I enjoyed every minute of mine and miss it badly. The LSD is a must have in these!

Needs to be driven in S+ or M to enjoy it most!

This is utter filth. Lovely. A couple of grand more than a Skoda Enyaq.

I know, I know...completely different cars but this is PistonHeads.

That is a very nice looking example.

A car which touches the soul. Everyday car or bellowing monster. Best when driven enthusiastically with both feet.

These are hotrods, so I think that it is criminal that they don't come with one as standard to be fair.

I reckon that if I had one of these...I'd spend most of the time just revving it up on my drive! biggrin

A must have in what way though? A bit strong to say it simply has to have one.

Mine doesn't and put's the power down as expected for a 457hp rwd car on the street....

A LSD is a must have for me personally in a powerful RWD car that's all. My old S14 200SX(that was only 250bhp to be fair though) had a LSD as standard, and I've really liked them ever since.

Both my M4 and 370Z also have a LSD.

I was just asking in what way it makes it a must have actually driving it, having never had a car with LSD.

Can anybody lend me £50k?

My bucket list includes owning a car with the 6.2 monster. Perhaps an SL63? The C63 coupe is possible, preferably the 507.

That’s lovely.

There’s a very similar one of these up in Dubai at the moment, maybe I go and take a look-see tomorrow. £33k in English money. Thought it was your old one for a moment, but this has the wheels in black.

It is just down to personal taste I think, and I prefer the extra traction that it gives you, and I find sliding a car easier with one(it gives me more control).

Many people don't actually like the way a LSD feels to drive from what I read though, and they prefer an open diff.

have owned 2 C63s - sold my low mileage coupe last year - big mistake as I miss it a lot and values have shot up. 507 wonderful but little difference from standard car if it has the LSD and perf pack - mine had both, my original saloon had neither and you do need the LSD tbh.

Here's my old estate during a full launch at VMax. The DMS remap claimed 522bhp, all I know is that it was fking rapid and sounded utterly glorious.

I can't put into words how much I still miss it and how much I've missed it from the day I sold it. They're such incredible engines. I've still got dreams of making a green over tan one, with an M159, in full black series spec.
