I know that even by barge standards these have the potential for big bills, but they do seem to offer an awful lot for the money.

If you could get rid of the drug dealer tints that would be a fabulous looking thing. Are they so expensive to run in V8 form? Not the W12 nightmare.
I'm pretty sure they're still pretty horrific. They are certainly handsome things though, I've always had a soft spot for them.
The V8 petrols get teens mpg. That’s why they’re cheap than the equivalent diesel.
But at least with a V8 petrol you get a V8 petrol instead of a pretty dreary, stinky diesel smile

To be fair there’s little difference in performance, ideally a LPG petrol.
True, but one is a smooth V8 petrol and the other is a stinky diesel hehe That said, I'm sure the V8 diesel isn't a bad thing, but it is not as nice as a petrol.

The DVLA computer says "Yes" instead of saying "No" hehe.

At the very least it looks like the exhaust systems are different, I'm seeing four different verisons for EU spec cars;
upto june 2000 cars
from July 2000 to sept 2002 (facelift)
I'm then showing one for cars sept 2002 onwards, but also a separate one entirely for Code 926/EU4 cars... And this is just the different options for exhaust down pipes wobble

I'm guessing in reality most if not all cars after the facelift have the 926/EU4 code (merc claimed in their marketing materials that all facelift 215 engines were EU4 complaint). There is a chance some cars may have come with might have come before the facelift but you'd need to check the chassis number against the build sheet codes to apply to get ULEZ exemption if that was the case.

Me too. Brussels (200 km away) has the occasional car-free day so one has the perfect excuse not to go to Brussels (which is, frankly, a bit of a st-hole!)

I went in a friend's Merc EQC today. I have to say I was impressed. So much better put together than a Tesla, fast and a great ride. The tech driven interior is not to my taste, and lean on the plastics and they give a little in a way they don't in my ancient Lexus. Interesting as it was the first time I have been in a premium electric SUV style thing - it felt like a very suitable power train for such a car where weight and ultimate driving dynamics don't matter much. Fully electric barges will be very relaxing indeed.

No thanks for fun motoring though.

I quite like the looks as well. Mercedes do looks so much better than the 'massive cocaine habit nostril' BMW designs which now compete on how vulgar they can get.

Definitely Seiko Grandmaster followed by G-Shock in the artisan analogue world versus the impeding digital sterility of electric motoring.

I like that Merc less than BM likes my Citroen, lol!

Have we had this? No one will buy it, which is a shame, V70 T6 @ 5.5, he says WBAC are offering 5 so that's what he'd take before they chip away. JP import, which screws up the tax making it only £250ish/ year.

I hope you were quick, for fear of getting peppered with Kittiwake secretion. I had a rather nervy moment last week driving round there in a convertible with the top down.

Fabulous Century, that car is the dream for me.

What a superb image and one I have never seen before. I will no doubt pinch the idea for myself since I work about 100 yards from there.

Are you still around town? Fancy a coffee/beer? I am knee deep between 10am and 6pm but outside of those hours I could say hello.

I can do coffee this morning, can be on the Quayside at 9am. Any particular establishment I need to park close to?

Just got your email, will respond smile

Picked up the wrong engine, so I wouldn't put too much stock in WBAC, although the other T6 available is a shade under 5 bags.

Imho Tesla is not premium brand. It is innovative, but not premium. smile

And the wrong generation. The 2,4 170 wasn't available in the mk3.
