It's a car you've owned for ten minutes, should be able to get about £30k for it now.

Wow.

All this daft pricing, and yet probably less than £20k could bag you the ultimate “one car for life”. You can keep that diesel Merc with the stupid neon interior.
This doesn't mention nor highlight the very dried and cracked leather, particularly the rear seats. I would be disappointed to discover that after posting a winning bid.
As a Japanese import, I suppose the trade off of an afternoon with a brew and a leather restoring kit is a set of actual existing sills and jacking points.

I'm going to guess at mid to high 20's for a finishing price.
This just shows how far out of touch I am with pricing, and makes the fact I owned in tandem a 40k mile B10V8 and the only E36 B8 4.6 sold here, with change from 20 bags, even more depressing biggrin

..still sounds cheap next to that Merc.

Love the look of that green E28, just missing a bigger engine.

In other barge related news, I was loading my boot with shopping in a relatively empty Tesco car park this afternoon. The wind was absolutely howling.

The barge gods were definitely smiling on the S211 S600 which had been carefully parked all by itself, fifty yards away. I watched in horror as a big trolley was blown down the car park at an astonishing speed, straight towards the Merc.

At the last second, another gust of wind took the trolley off course, missing its intended target by a few inches and pushing it off towards the filling station, finally ending its journey in the hedge next to the dual carriageway.
Phew.
It would've been a pain to have Scotland's only V12 Merc estate damaged by a rampaging trolley hehe

Isn't that a lovely thing? It'd be nicer with a blue interior, in my view.

The last recorded service was around 30,000 miles ago, though.

It's the way he's set the ad out - "serviced with local mechanic" under the last service with a main dealer.

Beautiful machine. I didn't like these when they were current, but I do now.

I would not have been able to sell a B8 4.6 - just as I can't sell the B10 4.6 - both very special, very rare cars and engines from a great time for Alpina. B10 V8's are far more common, well the saloons are - well over 200 rhd drive saloons to a dozen rhd Tourings.

In the closing pages of this volume, what are the abiding memories?

Speckled Jim's JDM fertility-affirming bus was eye-catching.

Fortunately the younger hasn't got a chav mobile. Far too busy at work now for any fun stuff, he says. That M135 did look.... Like it needed to stay wherever it was.

There has been far too much diesel in this vol. A sign of the times perhaps.

I think some of us saw that at Bicester?
We did indeed see it in Bicester, it was wearing the numberplate 49 AWS. Also saw it at Caffeine and Machine just after Christmas and before Bicester. I couldn't wrap my head around no MOT history for it until this thread posted, quite rightly, that it was an import.

Not sure if we've had this one. Ok, it's basically a Vauxhall, but will come with a service, new MOT, 6 months RAC Warranty, 12 months RAC Breakdown cover.

Oh dear, that sucks. Just be a bit more sensible with the right foot.
The joys of a quick blast passed a tractor and slurry tanker and not seeing the cameravan frown
Just think of all the lives saved though.
