In the closing pages of this volume, what are the abiding memories?
Speckled Jim's JDM fertility-affirming bus was eye-catching.
I heart my Alphard except for the terrible fuel economy so I think I’m going to get it gassed. Speckled Jim's JDM fertility-affirming bus was eye-catching.
There we go. Yellow and red cards in one sentence. I’m the barge thread Joey Barton.

There have been some funny, some sad, and some rather terrible admissions here over the years - this place being a sort of Samaritans-for-Losers - but rarely has anyone stooped as low as that. There we go. Yellow and red cards in one sentence. I’m the barge thread Joey Barton.
We'll need to keep quoting it so that it makes it into the new Volume - there'll be no hiding that sort of deviancy on the last page of old news, oh no...

For those wanting to try an integrated approach to in-car tech upgrades, xcarlink seem to have most bases covered. I found them as I was looking to sort out some sort of smart phone mirroring on my e39 without having to go down the upgraded headunit path. They even have aLexus solutions page...
That's a great recommendation, thanks. It seems they might have something which will fit my 130i which doesn't mean chopping the dash up to fit a double din stereo.I still have it all in the loft somewhere - not sure whether the electronics would all be the same as in your 130i if you did go down the new stereo route?

Sadly my car has just about the worst option for the infotainment, if it had the naff little screen it'd be easy to sort as you can buy a complete replacement that plugs in and gives an integrated android system.

The fuel economy stopped me from getting similar. Do we think LPG is sticking around? I know there are certainly fewer stations than when I used.

I love these. One went for £4k that had the turbos done or some other expensive job at auction 2.5/3 years ago, unfortunately I was still on the way to said auction at the time...21st Century Man said:
I was never great at Catchphrase.I guess I'm with Macron on this but whenever I'm looking at cars, be it barges, rapid estates, old classics etc I automatically and absolutely dismiss all diesels. SWMBO has one, perhaps one of the better ones, a three litre twin-turbo BMW thing but despite how quick it is and its six cylinder refinement it still sounds and feels like a tractor engine to me.

In my experience the straight 6 diesels are not bad, but they aren't a patch on a nice straight 6 petrol. I also don't like 4 cylinder petrol, I think most of them are naff too. 4 cylinder diesels are atrocious, I hate them. Diesel Barge Sympathiser said:

Running around in a shabby Mercedes W115 3 liter diesel with cast off oil from the local chip shop in the tank has a certain appeal. TyrannosauRoss Lex said:

Oh dear, that sucks. Just be a bit more sensible with the right foot.0a said:

Oh dear, that sucks. Just be a bit more sensible with the right foot.Fellow bargeists, I am in a bit of a quandry. I rather foolishly promised to the politburo to slim down the current fleet a bit by replacing the ageing 530d tourer and 2003 XJR with a 4 year old S4 avant. I work from home, so it seemed relatively sensible to replace two dailies with one that covers both bases - I need an estate for bikes and general stuff.
However, I drove the XJR again at the weekend for the first time this year and fell in love with it again. I'd like to keep it, Mrs wants it gone due to my rash promise. Space is at a bit of a premium, 4 in the garage, some on the drive, one in a mate's shed etc. 530d has already gone so S4 would be one-in, one-out.
Advice on how to proceed? Either by someone offering me £££ for the XJR or how to placate the Mrs...
