Rufford Ford just shows how stupid so many people are. I don't expect people to understand how an engine works but it's flipping obvious if you've a smallish car it's a dumb move.
More small city cars get through unscathed than 3 and 5 series BMWs.
The whole Rufford Ford thing puzzles me. Why? It's not as if it's a long diversion to avoid it completely.

Showing off by people who think they can get through because they're cleverer than all the other people who wreck their cars. Some are perhaps just dimwitted and never think to go another way because they don't realise they won't get through. They might be blindly following satnavs. Bear in mind people have driven into rivers, lakes and even the sea following their satnavs.

To be fair the water usually isnt that deep otherwise it would be closed to traffic rather than called a ford. Many people may be surprised their car cant go through what is in effect a large puddle.

I. Sure it’s used as a convenient way to kill off lemon cars by making insurance claims too.

Also confession time, long time ago went through Rufford Ford on a university motor club 12 car, think the name of the event was Rufford and Spitfire Aquaspace. Also used Spitfire Bottoms. yikes

If I was approaching a ford and there was a big crowd watching I would certainly ask myself why before entering.

Don’t think I would even contemplate driving through one at anytime.

I've gone through some on lanes that are obviously little more than a trickle, but yeah I think anything that had a crowd watching and ducks on it would be a hard no.

What an absolute stshow for at least the first five minutes!

Rufford Ford FLOOD and a CRASH - part 121
Apparently the highways people actually put up "road closed" signs when there is more than a few inches of water, these fkwits know full well what they're doing. I wonder if it's just a big care in the community scheme to keep the nonces in their "one life live it" old discos and the mouthbreather crowd out of trouble?

Nice to see the baldy caveman doing a civic duty and taking the miserable Mk6 Escort one step closer to extinction though!

It never fails to amaze me how stupid people are. My discovery will wade up to 700mm, and I wouldn't dream of going in there at more than a walking pace.

These drivers seem to think they are invincible, and that one just got very lucky.

I thought that was pretty impressive. Didn't expect it to make it out the other side.
