And pulling in front of people at the the pumps is a dick move.
Not when there is 2 pumps, the front one is clear and the back one is not even close to moving.
In this situation it is perfectly acceptable to pull round to the front pump. The alternative is just to sit there like an idiot when an empty pump is available.

It's fine when the other people can get out if you use the forward pump - I'd argue that using a pump and blocking them in while you pump 180L of fuel is absolute stroker behaviour.

I can’t post links on my phone, but the recent Carwow video where Matt Watson is driving a yellow pick up truck from the States.

Might be a bit controversial but he appears to drive it to the front of a petrol station forecourt, reverse in front of someone already at the pump and then proceeds to put 180 litres in while faffing about on camera. All while clearly the couple who’ve been boxed in by Matt are clearly getting pretty fed up.

Not sure if it was staged or not but appears to be a pretty dick move IMO. Clearly annoying other members of public and appearing to give zero sts about anyone else, but that does seem to be his style; how many times does he not give a st about a car he’s reviewing by trashing the boot lip by aggressively dragging suitcases into it to demonstrate the load lip, or by throwing a load cover on the ground if he can’t find somewhere to put it. Makes him a bit of a dick IMO.
He always seems like an entitled bellend, none of that is really surprising.
The Transit behind the couple could simply have reversed to let them out as there wasn't anyone behind him. He could then have also filled up. No idea why the Transit driver decided to pull up right to the back of the car in the middle and box them in so tight.
Because Van driver. Sorry if there are a few genuinely good van drivers on here, but they all seem to be either psychotics, or do about 25mph.

Yes I agree...but I was just speaking from an everyday standpoint and not specifically that video which I have not watched.
There has been occasions where I have pulled in front of another car at the pumps if it is the only one available, which is completely acceptable IMO.
I think it is silly to queue behind a car using the back pump when there is an easy route to the clear front one. The biggest delays in petrol stations comes from queueing to pay behind others buying everything except fuel.

I've followed another car up to 2 clear pumps and had it stop at the first one. Cue a circuit of the garage to then reverse back in front of the salt of the earth, fill up, pay and then leave while the driver and passenger were still faffing about in the magazine section. Another car reversed in front of them as I was leaving. smile

You really ought to watch the video before defending it. He made sure there was no room for the other car to get past, then filled up , did a bit to camera, went and paid, did another bit to camera and then but another £20 in followed by more stuff to camera.

Hilarious stuff!

Oh I absolutely agree with you there, it makes zero sense to leave pumps idle when you need to use them.

I am not defending anything in the video, because as I said I have not watched it.
I was simply responding to a comment and making a point that it is generally acceptable to drive around a vehicle parked at a rear pump when there is a clear space at the front one. smile

As long as their is room for the other car to get past me, I wouldn’t think twice about driving round to the front pump.

Annoys me when all pumps are in use and someone rather than get in a queue sort of blocks all lanes at the entrance waiting for the first pump to become available, if I can I will pass them and get in a queu for a pump.

But I don’t think it’s acceptable to pull in front of one blocking them in, just be patient. Maybe they pulled in for a big fill up, and the one in front only took a few gallons and has gone, oh and you mentioned shopping OMG groan, drives me nuts

I’ve seen that video and it drove me mad. What a fking meal he makes of driving it, the faux wincing every time he has to drive through a gap you could fit a bloody bus through. Has he never rented a van to move house? I suppose it’s all massively hammed up to make a point but it did my tits in how fake-difficult it was for him to drive it round some small roads.
