You're on the right track, but forgot the No. 8 wire nose ring. They need to start thinking about TWO different design schools - one for their traditional market ( small grill design) & one for their emerging market aspirations ( those in favour of the gopping monstrosities of late).
Hideousness has a new name - BMW.
Disclaimer - previously owned a delightful E46.

Hahahahahha love it, absolutely love it!!!!In the 1:50 running time, you barely see the car. Instead its two strong, diverse female characters prancing around in various costumes.
I assume that the two women are meant to represent the over-the-top design philosophy battling with good taste????
Good taste definitely lost................................
Rather have a Chrysler Crossfire than one of these, even if someone gave it to me free it would be instantly sold.
I've seen a couple of new nostrilled BMs here and laughed at them whilst driving past.
I suspect if I see one of these in the flesh I'll have an accident I'll be laughing that hard.

Shockingly ugly, excessive in every respect (almost tone deaf in a way) and an insult to 50 years of M. It doesn’t embody anything about the history or heritage of M. It’s a complete mess.
But... it's been the direction of travel for 50 years. I'd have been much more surprised if they'd made something small, light and with a focus on handling. BMW is like that old best mate from school days. But you've been living such different lives for so long there's no real connection these days, just a nod to an enjoyable shared past.
It's striking, certainly. You're not going to mistake it for anything else.
I feel like BMW are a bit shellshocked lately. 5 or 6 years ago they were the ones setting the agenda, with styling and everything else. They built lots of benchmark cars and basically everyone else wanted to be like them on some level. Where they went, other brands often followed.
Now Tesla's come along, though, and suddenly everyone wants to be them instead. This has maybe been a bit of a crisis for BMW, and now they're putting stuff like this, as well as the new 4 and that ID-X thing or whatever it's called to try and be recognised as "bold" and "pioneering" again, rather than just another "legacy automaker".
