Speaking as a Subaru guy, who used to have the rally livery on his car. Change the styling and I’m on board.

The rear wheels don't fit correctly into the rear arches (or vice-versa!), but otherwise I think it looks good. I won't comment on the ethics of the drivetrain swap, since it's one supposedly sacrosanct motor for another.

£25k for a 16 year old Cayman that has done 150k?

It's not as if it's an expensive engine that has been fitted.
Its a lot of work and hours to get all aligned and I guess many small parts maybe maid to fit, if you can do all yourself then its cheaper, but say some garage made such for you, it could cost more all in.
If you're going to all the effort of a V8 swap it surely makes more sense to go with an LS lump. Few simple mods before it goes in will get it into the 400's NA
There were videos on Youtube of the chap doing the swap himself in his garage, but they seem to have been removed, presumably when it went up for sale.

Reason the Audi V8 would have been chosen is that it's nice and short but wide, so suited to the mid-engined engine bay. The LS would be too long without hacking into the bulkhead. The Cayman uses a variant of an Audi transaxle, so they engine physically bolts up with some minor mods. Compatible flywheel and clutch assembles are also available.

You'd need to fabricate a subframe, but other than that the largest challenges are likely the electronics intergration..

This guy did a series sticking one in an old Boxster which is worth a watch:

looks like something Tamiya would've produced in the 80s.

Therefore I like it a lot.

How many gallons per mile does it do? Otherwise looks a practical family run-around.

My mate always said his big yank did 25mpg everywhere, when I challenged him he said '10 in the town and 15 on a run, that makes 25' smile

So does this belong in the decently modified, or badly modified thread in PH opinion?

Built Honda K24 race engine built for big boost. I think they claim 1,200hp
Sequential race gearbox.

Wrong engine. The colour's not great either, especially the wheels.

In the builders defence of the colour, it's a wrap done quickly for SEMA and he intends to (re)paint it yellow.

Curious as to what the "right" engine would be though.

The Chris Evans effect, a white Ferrari isn't a good look now.

I like it, and I'm looking forward to watching the video.

The purists will hate it though hehe
