Thanks, it's mine unfortunately. I'm a long time lurker on this thread and that ad was literally typed the second I disembarked having collected it. In the interim I have booked it in to be checked out by my new trusted indie in case it's something that I want to continue with (I doubt it) but they aren't able to see it until 27.4.23 and so if anyone wants it before that then please, be my guest, it's blocking the view from the house. Interestingly, it's the first time I have used an ad with a deprecating approach and it hasn't half sorted the timewasters out, really sensible people have been in contact.

I love the advert, bravo. Just a couple of paragraph breaks needed and that's as good as it gets.

Good ploy. I suppose the chav element simply cannot mentally process the sarcastic deprecation.

Fantastic advert,
£100 per hp seems reasonable.

I thought this would gain traction in this corner of the web, you lot love it (so do I )
It is currently sitting next to my W124 estate, smoke silver 280 and that car just sits there, on 200,028 miles looking and feeling like it's going to do another 200k. Remarkable machines.

Ah that makes sense, didn't realise that there was such a low limit on PH adverts.

Pre MOT Works.
To investigate problems with the ABS warning and other faults; Trace the burnt out wiring on loom under left hand front wheel arch and make repairs with new connector bocks; investigate faults to other control units caused by the burn out, make repairs to these control units and instrument cluster as necessary; re-fit all parts removed for this purpose and submit for an MOT.
I understand that has spoken with you about this work and informed you that the cost of these works to get the car to the MOT is £3,000 plus Vat.
2. Post MOT Works.
The car was then submitted for an MOT on 7 November 2011 and it failed for a number of reasons;
- Parking brake efficiency below requirements.
- Direction indicator not working nearside front
- Suspension arm ball joint excessively worn Offside front upper
- Suspension arm pin or bush excessively worn Nearside Front Lower
- Windscreen washer provides insufficient washer liquid
The car was then put up on a lift to assess these faults during which the following works were identified;
- Strip and fit new front brake discs, discs and sensors – 2 hours
- Strip and fit new rear discs , pads and sensors, strip and fit parking brake shoe set – 3 hours
- Strip and fit R/H front upper wishbone – 5 hours

I understand that these works were advised and approved by you and they have been carried out, a total of 13.5 hours at £110 plus Vat totalling £1,485 plus Vat of £297 = £1,782.00.
I also understand that you also asked for a full service with spark plugs at £595 plus Vat and change of brake fluid at 1 hour at £110 plus Vat.
The cost of the parts etc. necessary to undertake this work was as follows;
2 front discs at £156.28 each less 25% discount - £234.42

Yikes indeed.

I have been shafted royally and I know it. The specialist in question has previously been someone I have trusted.

The situation ended with me saying "It's worth £6k if it works" and he said that it did and it doesn't.

Please, can I ask that no threadist makes an offer for this car, I could not live with the guilt.

I have wanted a Cayenne Turbo for sometime.

Was the issue with the specialist that the works were not authorized but completed anyway? The parts prices, to me, don't look too bad - the brakes are certainly a lot cheaper than on my S600. The hourly rate is possibly a bit "punchy" at £110 but that may be where we are with "specialists" now.

Anyway, great advert very well written - the condition of the car looks great, if only the electrics could be sorted with the work you have already done it could make a very good car for someone for not a lot of money.

Don't know if this can be classed as a barge, however, it is the 3.2V6 and it is VERY well priced, so may be of interest.

Decent MOT history as well and the owner, who has owned since new, appears a petrol head.

It's in Leamington.
