Toyota Crown. 15th gen, S220.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Crown

The latest model is very different, very, very different. That grille has gone, but the whole thing is new, in the flesh they look pretty sci-fi. The first time I saw one, from a distance I thought it was a Lucid Air and I got very bouncy.

I thought some of you might appreciate this, a lovely crisp barge (oxymoron) outside an Inn.

I am not a fan of the grille but I like the shape. What is it?
That one in particular is the Royal series or entry level (the grill is the giveaway). nerd

There’s a review of the new one here and it’s as you’d expect from modern blandness.

My JDM knowledge over the last couple of weeks is the only thing keeping up with the gas bill.

Keep it up.

Not you, Centrica.

My son and daughter in law were upgrading their little Honda Life Kei car and we went out and bought this today, with help from the bank of mum & dad. 2018 Toyota Pixis Kei van. Well equipped, lovely pearlescent paint and 4wd turbo.

We will be back for a better visit sometime soon. Stopped for a quick bite at the Harbour House Hotel (I think it’s called ). It suited our needs as we were a bit pushed for time.

Morning all,

How goes it?

Disappointed by the seemingly done deal of the ULEZ expansion to the whole of Greater London, I am on the lookout for a Greta-friendly barge as the LS400 does not meet requirements.

Currently thinking something along the lines of an X350 petrol - who is the resident expert in that department? Would be great to have a chat. Usefully, many of the earlier petrol ones which are ULEZ certified are not marked as such on Autotrader. Hopefully this leads the other punters scrambling for eco friendly motors down the garden path - leaving the gems to my good self.

Thanks both. Added to my must research further (and pull my finger out and visit!) list. This, and r129SL's trip further up earlier in the year. I do miss his travelogues and old merc related tool-foolery.

Not having sea legs, also tells me this could be a better option to visit Ken's side of the water too. Have always fancied it, but there has never been enough kwells available at Boots usually!.

My X350 XJR is compliant (according to the TFL checker).

Kei-barges are en vogue at the moment...

X350? - you need to mind your c**k upon entry was the recent musings I believe.

It will be interesting to see the affects on values of non-compliant vehicles in the coming months, especially as post covid supply issues are still screwing the new and newer used end of the market.

Good luck, a beard will be along soon I'm sure, with some gem advice for you.

If you have your heart set on an XJ so be it (they're an alluring machine and I've always had a hankering to scratch the Jag itch), but you have other options too.
LS460 complies, but check the E10 checker as at least some cannot use it (mine can't). 385bhp 4.6 V8 so suitably proper.

Also even 2004 Merc V8s comply, and there's a lot of V8 powered Mercs of many power levels and shapes since 2004 so you have a lot of choice.
