Diesel still £1.64 or so here (North Yorkshire village) Maybe it's just BP being robbing bds, but it does seem rather slow to dip around here..
Sainsbury's in Harrogate was £1.58 the other day.
Still 168.9 for diesel at my local esso in leeds, Sainsbury’s a few miles away is 161.9
It was 1.56 in Richmond yesterday: diesel. North Yorks village !
The last time I was up that way Richmond always had pricey petrol, caterick Tesco was always the best price!

Prices round here are continuing to climb slowly but surely to 144.9

Cheapest a week ago was 3p per litre less than it is currently, still got over 2/4 of a tank and Costco is still down 136.9ppl

They were worried about the risk of a global recession
So they decided to make it a certainty

Interesting Sky News article about Saudi price fixing and them possibly running low on money. I wonder how long it’ll be our and the US government’s get fed up of OPEC and it turns nasty?

The only alternative is electric to which most people can't even afford that. Let alone buying an electric car in the first place either used or new.

Even if we moved to E-fuel the Saudis etc will just convert their oil into E-Fuel and still charge a fortune.

So makes no difference really in the price wise.

lol Have you seen that EV forums have threads like this with Brits across the country whining about the ever rising cost of electricity, both at home and using public chargers?

Even if petrol/diesel and EV charging was free, a lot of people would still grumble about something or other.

Yes I have, I was going to add out of the frying pan into the fire, I can only see motoring getting more expensive by going electric. But it’s annoying the Middle East have this hold over us.

Not sure I agree price wise, I think if/when we are all forced into electric it will probably cost more per mile than oil. Don’t forget the electric doesn’t include the tax that is whacked onto petrol/diesel.

We aren't going to be forced into it. Government has already done a U-turn and allowing bio-fuel for ICE vehicles. Came out last week to which Porsche are already doing it as they have their race cars using this fuel which is made in Chile.

To sum it up, car manufacturers have said to the Governments that to have a full EV network then there's the infrastructure isn't there, takes too long to charge up, costs far too much to make an EV in the first place.

I think there are probably enough EV threads that this doesn’t need to turn into one. But I think the vast majority of manufactures have committed to ev now. It’s probably going to be like blu ray, hd dvd. I’m under the impression many thought blu ray wasn’t better, but once dell and PlayStation committed to those the game was over.

Let’s see what happens, but whatever it is, we will likely all end up paying more and having no say in it.

It's a preferable situation to the first half of the 20th century when the Seven Sisters cartel had a colonial model of exploiting those nations that had oil, hence OPEC was born.

Yes petrol prices are going to go up but so is electricity prices. The infrastructure just isn't going to be ready in 7 years or even 15 years.

You say that they've committed but they haven't. Yes they might sell an EV model but there's not many that are designing entire car platforms across its range. Most just have maybe 1 platform and the others are just a bodge together on an ICE.

It's clear to see that petrol/diesel prices will keep going up and will never go down. Not even to £1.30 p/l, that is now a thing of the past. The norm is what we are seeing now which is completely unacceptable but no one can do anything about it. Oil companies are making huge profits because they know they are untouchable.

Sainsburys (Irvine) now 148.9 for diesel but I have noticed a few garages have increased the price of petrol by 1p or 2p back to wrong side of 140p

Local petrol is now at 151.9 and diesel at 154.9 (E10 and B7 at Esso).
3p difference is the closest I have seen for many a time.
I think diesel is slipping down in price and petrol moving up.

Roberts @ grindley brook who I've posted about a few times was cheaper for diesel the other day than petrol.

Diesel was 141 and petrol was 144

My local (to work) Esso was 163.9 for diesel last week. Where in the country was it 154.9? The one I use has historically always been dearer.
