Weighed in at 1775kg on Millbrook scales
eh? Where did you get that figure from?
I'm guessing...Millbrook scales?
doesn't sound at all like kerb weight and bs.

laugh Sounds like he's literally weighed one. Have you?

Manufacturers are not exactly overly forthright about weights, and "kerb weight" will always be the minimum they can possibly get away with stating without veering into the 'outright lie' territory, especially now as cars are getting ever so portly.

Drizzle a few options on top (what, you think those 20" rims, massage seats, hifi upgrade, and panoramic roof don't weigh anything?) and it's easy to see why a car might weigh >100kg more than any quoted figure for the base spec.

Weighed with what? Full tank of fuel? Luggage? People? What?

Google the kerb weights yourself and it's way off from what multiple reputable outlets have quoted, including Autocar.

The weights i stated earlier are all data measured in the same way and is part of the data in the Swedish registry, and it's accurate since a couple of years ago. They can sometimes differ compared to manufacturer numbers, especially for Ferraris and some others, but some are fairly good. They are almost always heavier than the numbers in the catalogue though due to equipment etc.

I looked around one of these today at my local dealer. It was in the purple colour and I thought that it looked good in the metal. The interior had a nice upmarket look to it as well. I can see it selling well to be fair.
They’re hugely colour sensitive in my opinion.

The purple looks good, especially in the sun when it pops. It needs the horrible metallic beige details swapped for black ones too. The grey one that Autoid had on display a few weeks ago looked awful, it was so meh and it hid what few details there are. I’ve seen a black one too at my local dealer which I though looked hideous.

One thing I do struggle with is the lack of detail in the panels. Being quite a big car now, there are what seems like large areas of just flat metal. I think it makes it look much bigger than it is. I think the boot is too squared off so it looks like it stops too abruptly for me. Stock ones sounds rubbish too.

Interior is nice though, a massive step up form the F2x cars.

That's why I prefer to compare normalised weights like DIN or EU. They may not be the exact weight of all the cars of course but at least they are a level playing field for benchmarking purposes, assuming everyone cheats by the same amount.

I popped into the local stealer and he had one in Brooklyn Grey with the carbon pack on it. Quite liked it but thought the front looked non-descript. The rear was awful with the diffuser but overall as a package , prefer it to the other offerings from audi and merc. Not easy to get hold of either but i think the x-drive is a worthwhile addition. I prefer the looks to the 4 series and all road reviews have been positive. It seems pretty good value to , Have to say the carbon pack did improve the car overall. I owned previously an LCI M2 and was a lovely steer. I think this M240i will be a lot of fun.

Interesting to see new M2 will be RWD only and how that stacks up against the 4WD 240!

I think straight line performance wont be night and day different but ones an M car and the other is good, but isnt.

Saw a video the other day with a new X Drive M4 vs a remapped M240i, not a huge lot in it, the old 1 and 2 were fast, but the new 2 is even faster and has 4wd, plus masses of scope for more power than you ever need, 550 plus bhp isnt unheard of with just bolt on stuff.

I do think cars are getting faster than the drivers now though.

Havn't had mine on a track but into 4,000 miles now which i have done many back to back days with the M2 and i am very impressed,it's a very capable car with a power output which can suddenly suprise you even though the M2 still feels more powerful with has less BHP.....

It just came equal last in the autocar drivers car of the year contest. To be fair none of the cars are bad, and many of the cars are mega money, but I guess it’s just heavy and comfort biased as it’s primarily a road car. Fast though.

I'm just thinking of getting one. I hear all the .... it's lardy blah blah stuff BUT, I want a smallish, 4wd, fast, modern, relatively affordable 2 door.

My M4 Comp has gone now .... it would have killed me one day for sure. These may not be as fast from a roll but still fast enough.

Looks have grown on me.

Now, just imagine the announce that it's going to soon be offered with RWD and a manual thus shaving off 300lbs! Seems like a no-brainer to me except that it might then cannibalize sales of the M2.

I think the RWD M240i is still Auto only, it's just the M2 they're offering as a Manual

IIRC the only new Manual B58 engined car is the Supra

Bought one.

It's such an easier car to drive and probably live with tbh. M4 is all or nothing, cruising was just meh.
