RE: 2022 BMW M240i xDrive | PH Review
Discussion
We've had one coming up for a year now and its just going in for 1st service. Bought as a town run about, its hands down the best we've had; the only pain is lack of rear doors - but still plenty of space for teenagers. Only complaints are fuel consumption and the tiny 50l tank. You will be mates with the petrol station clerks. And I really like the new dash layout. Will dig out pics.

How does the M240i XDrive standup against the new M2? Anyone driven both?
I now own both... Had the M240 since September 22 and the M2 since last September. I'm using the M240 as my daily and done 22,000 miles in it, the M2 is Manual, not done many miles in it yet i'm sure that'll change this spring, they are both excellent but different in so many ways, imo the M240 is closer in comparison to the F87 M2 which i've done over 40,000 miles in and indeed still own. The New M2 is just a different car that feels more powerful than the near on 460BHP in delivers, maybe the Manual exaggerates the feel of this more? But it certainly feels totally different to the F87 but i can't imagine me using the New M2 as a daily especially with the manual box i think it’s going to be an excellent fun weekender...Ultrafunkula said:
Definitely looking at these as a next car, I have a couple of worries though. I've heard that the offset driving position can be uncomfortable on longer journeys and passive suspension is a bit stiff. I'm one of the few people who think it looks good from every angle though!

Perfect timing this popping up, as I made the point this article demonstrates so well on another thread...
Read the previous gen review. Such improved body dynamics, not perfect but significantly better.
Now, it's borderline dangerous, with pogoing and trying to kill you when going to Sainsbury's due to such poor dynamics and body control...
Can't wait to read the next Gen's review, where this one is called out as being utter turd!
More on topic, saw one of these yesterday. I'm a massive hater of the bloat and size increases that have occurred through this century - but this was nice. Design wise, I quite like the muscularity of the harder edged bits around the arches and bumpers, with the smoother flow of the upper surfacing.

Here's mine in London Grime colourway. Wasn't brave enough to do cognac interior with Thundernight (and I had a technoviolet M3 previously that was subject to much ribbing). It's not killed me, yet.....
