Wow the first year's VED is £1420 included in the price. Thereafter is £165 per year.

I haven't bought a new car for some time so this was a surprise.

Who was complaining about the lack of rear parking sensors? The spec says it has them, as well as the camera.

When you take the VED into account the otr price is even better.

Does anyone know if the GR86 come with a speed limiter and if this something to be concerned about?
It's not something to be concerned about.

When I ordered mine I was told explicitly it didn’t have sensors at all, only a camera. Happy to be wrong though!

Just got back from my local dealership. Deposit down on an Ice Silver Manual, they're processing the order next week!

Now the wait begins but I'll certainly enjoy the final few months in my ST!

Been to see my local dealer this morning with a view to putting down a deposit, very helpful offered me a reasonable price for my part ex put did try the usual paint protection etc, however I did leave with my money still in my pocket, why? Well they wanted 1k deposit which was non refundable which is too much for me on a car I haven't seen or driven just in case I don't like it for whatever reason I need to give it some thought, may wait until there demo arrives in June before I make a decision, I know it will push to the back of the waiting list but 1k is still a lot of money to me

The early setup had pretty crashy dampening, crappy setup for sure. I recently swapped my fairly low milage 2013 dampers for 2019 BRZ dampers, and the ride is much much better over small harsh bumps. They did a good job on the later cars, but the early ones is a bit harsh for a standard car.

But yeah, everyone seems to swap everything on the car just because it's available, not because hey necessarily need it smile
Oh that's good to hear, mine is a 2013 and see definitely crashy, especially when the damper oil is cold in the winter redface.

I've set my Cerbera up as similar as possible to the 86, but with better/softer damping. I kinda love the 86, but it is crashy for sure.

Might be worth persevering, I was originally told it needed a £1k non-refundable deposit but eventually changed to £500 refundable when I was dithering.

How refundable that will be if I change my mind after the test drive I'm yet to see, but that's what I was told.

Placed my deposit yesterday at the cambridge dealership, and they only wanted £250 and refundable if I don’t get on with it on the test drive when their demo car arrives in June.
I thought that was very reasonable.

Just how useless will the rear seats in these be? good enough to take one primary school age child? if so I think i'm going for it, finance is up on my dull daily and the weekend toy mostly sits in the garage as it only has 2 seats

for the record i'll be going black auto

With the passenger seat a bit more forward than usual, 3 is fine in an 86 imo smile.

I'm going to ring round a few other dealers see if they can do any better, just seems a bit harsh £1000 non refundable deposit on a car you haven't seen.

Marshall’s in Cardiff only wanted £250 back in November too, if they’re close to you at all. Ask for Callum, great guy and a proper enthusiast.

All the GR centres (approximately 40 from memory) will get a demonstrator in June, so you can wait until then if you have any doubts/concerns.

I've just got back from Leeds Toyota, went down to put a deposit down subject to similar questions.

Deposit-wise, they expressly stated that it was non-refundable. I said, well what if the delivery date is July, then backs out to November then supply issues and it becomes Spring 2023? They said in that case they would 'work something out'. I can guarantee that the contract wouldn't say that & I'd be tied to the mast until it turned up or lose my £500.

Guess it's a risk-based judgment call but I think I might wait.

Anybody dealt with a dealer (ideally oop north) that has agreed (in writing) to deposit return conditions?
I don't know who you saw at Leeds Toyota, but I was told last Tuesday a 1k deposit would secure a car & was completely refundable depending on test drive. I am expecting a call on Tuesday morning when the official order book opens to order mine.

RRG Stockport have been really good, my brother got his GR Yaris there and I’m dealing with the same lad who’s really into his cars. If it turns up in august I’ll probably wait for the September reg but I’m expecting some delays which seems to be the case industry wide.

Good morning all, I found the Toyota GB GR86 configurator last night:

https://www.toyota.co.uk/new-cars/gr86/build

I assume it's a work in progress as I cannot find how to get to it via the Toyota UK site. I found it when searching for images to help me confirm my colour choice!

I would have put this up earlier, but apparently I'm not allowed to post before 9am cos I'm new
Thank you for the link..

Ordered mine!

£250 deposit paid and will be returned before I get the car
My choice (white) was 16 weeks, other colours were 15 weeks

Got confirmation e-mail and order number so now just need to wait :-)

Where or at which point of the ordering process did you see the delivery times?

I use my GT86 for the school run several times per week, my kids are 7 and 5 both with child booster seats. One problem is when the kids are to small and don't have legs long enough to put them under the front seat, but it it works very well. 2 adults + 2 kids work aswell, but its a bit cramped behind me if i drive, my wife is shorter so that leaves more room. The rear seats are useless for some people, but for some like me its an enabler to swap a boring daily driver for the 86 smile
