That looks stunning. The polar opposite to bland. And that's just looking at it. Remembering how playful my GT86 was, I would hazard a guess that bland is on of the most misplaced comment I have read about a car on PH, and the bar is very high. Unless of course the author of the comment comes from something very exotic and very lairy.
Love this, driving my GT86 in the winter, on summer tyres, so so bland hehe

The GRs look great.

Haha. Love the piece of plastic instead of the screen.

30% reduced throw short shifter from Billetworkz installed in the 86.

Short shifters can be hit or miss but I'm delighted to say this is a great enhancement for me.

I decided to go a bit jazzy with this for a couple of reasons. The first being that the knob was on sale at a decent discount and the second is a bit more nostalgic. One of my earliest car memories is my Grandfather's black rwd Mazda 323. It's a car I'd love to have now but the thing that really got me at the time was the resin gold gearknob that had a little golden car set inside it. When I was looking at the selection this reoccurred to me so I went for something showy.

The install was pretty simple. I made it trickier by refusing to lift the car in the belief I could manage it all from the top side. I succeeded with just one busted knuckle to remind me that installation guides are usually that way for a reason.

(my kids made the screen filthy - will be cleaning that today!)

I left the car totally stock for the first 6 months and 6000 kms of ownership. The short shifter and the MTEC clutch spring have been the first 2 modifications and I strongly recommend them. Short shifters are more of a personal preference but the clutch spring is a must.

I got the same email, I wonder how many more will be made available? Put my duck bill spoiler on today, didn’t use the 6 screws, removed them, there is loads of pre installed 3m tape, good degreasing prep, and a dozen clear silicon blobs in key areas for added bonding will hold her in place, it weighs nothing and it’s pushed down by its very nature, so I’m confident she’s secure for the long term,
I’m toying with the MTEC clutch spring but it’s not really an issue, it’s the over sensitive throttle set up that makes town driving a slightly difficult task to do smoothly, so I’ve purchased a Pedal Commander for £199 that allows complete control over throttle sensitivity from an app in your phone.
Oh the spoiler on black is the same finish as the mirrors for those who fancy the same look, I’m very happy with it.

The message to those on the waiting list:

Rest assured, because you're on the waitlist, you will be among the first to know if any additional cars become available. Just let us know if you want to make a purchase, should the opportunity arise.

I've gone for the TRD one, its not a shifter rather an extension you add to the lower part of the stock shifter I think

3000 miles in

Any news on the additional stock for the UK.

I went into my local Toyota dealer (Parks in Inverness) and the salesman knew nothing.

I've seen a few private buyers and two dealers listing cars on Autotrader between £37k and £40k

Surprised people are upgrading the shifter, it's one of the nicest things about my GT86.

It doesn't need it. I just like a really short throw.

Tough on the guy. He wasn't even driving it hard (in the video at least).

I thought Toyota had already gone through this with another guy in the US and they covered it. Strange that they changed their tune now.

Tough luck indeed but it is so hard on a car when driving on track. It's amazing engines last anywhere near as long as they often do. With 19k on the clock Toyota have no idea how hard it's been driven or for how long, they can't be expected to cover this IMO,
