I got the email inviting to order - but I am currently about to buy a car for my daughter to learn to drive on so am a bit stuck - does anyone know if the £1k deposit is refundable if decide not to go ahead after...need some time to work out a plan to get the GR and something for my daughter (having looked at insurance costs for her to drive the GR86 ha ha ha ha)
£1k is refundable. 14 day return after collection too if you don't like it.

£32495! for a black manual is very fair of Toyota, with inflation at 10% since last year, £32995 would be about right, well done getting one, I wonder if we will ever know the full allocation in the U.K. in time?
How many left will have the registration data once its published from DVLA

Think that's very reasonable in this climate. You'll pay more for a higher spec ND MX5, an 8 year old model that you'd expect to be getting discounted to try to shift volume at this point.

I cross shopped GT86s and ND2 MX5s in 2019 and while the GT86 was a much sharper drive the engine was awful so I bought the Mazda, if they really have made this one better (not just journalist lies) it'd come down to how much you like the roof down I guess.

They get it quarterly & it's slow to update, so it might be a while yet. They're up to Q3/2022 at the moment (when there were 6 GR86 registered in the UK!).

Just a random question? Would it be offensive to offer my potential build slot (I have the invite to actually select the build required and have paid my 1k reservation charge) for a 1k management fee? I say management fee because I would have to remain as the lead throughout the process. Just a question before you all jump on my capitalist ethos.

Yes just let someone else on the list have it.

Or just flip it. Everyone loves the flippers.

I would say that would be welcome to someone looking to get a car that haven’t made the list, both parties benefit, and it’s definitely less offensive than flippers asking £39k, who haven’t even driven their car, my 2 pence is make the offer, I’m sure it would be taken up.

Just got my invitation to bung Toyota GB £1K. Mrs M isn't happy (predictably), but how could I refuse? I mean, apart from domestic strife, what could go wrong?

If it plays out well enough you might not have to worry about domestic strife in the future smile

Just got an email invitation to get on the waitlist for a GR86. Anyone else?

As a current GT86 owner I’d love one but not really in the financial position to commit.
