1 today, which surprised me!
Likewise I couldn't tell you why I thought it was that, pleasant surprise to see I was correct.
I think when we look at cars, we subconsciously pick up on little details without realising. For me it was that scalp in the skirt and the way it meets the wheelarch that I subconsciously seemed to remember.
I definitely agree, it’s an automatic recognition.

Today wasn’t for me, showing my age. Nil points.

Another washout today. Even when it was revealed I was none the wiser.

Perhaps we're catering for the folk that just discover the thread and don' t know about the webpage yet?
I understand why you wouldn't understand that though.
Understand this.

If someone comes to the thread for the first time, and finds today's MCLAREN P1 quiz has been "spoiled" for them because they read the thread before doing the quiz, then that is unlucky. If they then did the same thing on subsequent MCLAREN P1 days, it would be staggeringly stupid behaviour. Therefore each PH user can only possibly have the quiz "ruined" for them the once. Because although I've read a LOT of (imho) really stupid opinions and statements on here, no-one ever seems to admit that they are stupid. Ergo, no-one is going to be affected by "spoilers" because they aren't MCLAREN P1 stupid.

I mean, it's 2347hrs, and by 0001hrs tomorrow there'll be a new car to guess. Typing MCLAREN P1 isn't "spoiling" anything for anyone now, is it?

To extend the logical thinking, there seems to be no CARDLE archive to check back as to which cars appeared on which days. So there's no database with which to compare the cryptic chit-chat on this thread. So someone who "just found this thread" is just going to read through pages and pages of what now amounts to Gobbledygook, people trying to use veiled speech to talk about a car quiz while never naming the actual car. Add to that the fact that people continue to chit-chat about yesterday's car over conversations about today's quiz, and it's a recipe for confusion. Especially as some of the cars are pretty rare and obscure. Like a one-of-it's-kind British racing car which never raced nor entered any kind of production as a road or race car, however limited. Whereas, if someone had the balls to stand up and challenge this illogical nonsense, perhaps we could talk in plain English about the MCLAREN P1 car of the day, and if anyone wanted to add something about a previous day's JAGUAR XJ13 car they could do so with clarity without fogging up the discourse about today's answer.
I understand why you wouldn't understand that though. wink
I think you might be overthinking this. wink
Me? Overthinking things? Pah! How dare you. Pick up the glove, God damn your eyes, and meet me in Hyde Park tomorrow at 6.00am sharp. And bring a second... shoot

...seriously, though, I probably am overthinking it. But it's really frustrating trying to guess which car is being talked about on here at any stage. But I'll continue to respect (my "spoiler Tourette's" outburst last night aside) the nonsensical "no spoilers" rule, as much as I disagree with it. It's only a bit of fun at the end of the day, and definitely not worth arguing about and derailing this thread...

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’d like to see some more ‘ordinary’ cars in here, rather than just short run supercars

I’d be screwed. I can’t tell a Kia i20 from a Hyundai Rio!

Ill happily admit I’d never heard of todays car.
If it does go down that route then it’s just sad car bearding rather than sad aspirational car bearding.

Today's car (Blue) is my worst to date, scraped in at 5. Many will get it in one.

I'm not handing in my PH card yet. It was just a blip, normal service will resume tomorrow.

Didn't get it today. I'm ashamed to admit it's not a car I've even heard of! Looks very nice though.

Same here. I think it might be the same part on both cars.

3 for me today. From the comments I think I went the same way as others and then couldn't get the wrong brand out of my head for pic 2 so guessed another of their cars.
