RE: Toyota GR Supra (A90) | PH Used Buying Guide
Discussion
Look far better in the flesh than they do in photo's.
Cayman aside, I'd certainly take one of these over a TT. But I'd wait for the manual.
Having owned a few Japanese cars over the years, included my current GR Yaris, having a BMW interior can only add to the appeal for me. Yes, it's a BMW interior, but it's far better quality than Toyota would have produced on their own.
And currently owning a BMW with that straight six engine, again adds to the appeal. Great engines.

It might have a more touchy-feely interior, but it absolutely won't beat Toyota quality. Can't help but feel like this Supra is a complete swing and a miss - when the world's biggest car company can't even be bothered to build its own flagship sports car, something is very wrong.
Compared to the Yaris GR and the GR86 this is just the poor cousin.

I understand what you mean, but for me personally I'd take a manual 3.0 Supra over both the Yaris and the GR86. I prefer more cylinders/capacity, and I also prefer a 2 seater and a turbo, so the Supra really hits the spot for me in that regard. The Yaris GR does absolutely nothing for me, but I'd definitely fancy a GR86 though...because they remind me of my old S14a 200SX a lot.

Have only seen a handful of these on the roads and they look like a 5 year old designed them.
Compared to the same price point competition I really only see these as an irrelevance or for JDM fanboys.
I don’t get the connection to the ‘supra heritage’ whatever that is meant to be
You'd get it if you were a fan of (a) Gran Turismo or (b) Toyota 2JZ engines. Compared to the same price point competition I really only see these as an irrelevance or for JDM fanboys.

I never saw one ever on the road before I bagged one. Never seen another since either !
Me and my better half were about to slot into a new obligatory TT. No discount (different times) No choice and one parked on every corner. Sigh ..
Read a few Supra stats and reviews and after absorbing info for a good 12 seconds, set about buying one..
On paper this car stacked up in comparison. More so, as I got a brand new undriven 3.0 Pro @ circa £11k discount off list. Again, different times but the complete opposite to the TT or indeed most other comparable vehicles.
So I was well chuffed setting out to pickup my new unseen (in all senses) bargain Supra.
I have to say, was initially luke warm on car in pictures but in the flesh it’s utterly fantastic - a million times stronger with great unusual and interesting styling.
I was equally surprised and gobsmacked by the things turn of speed. It is one mega quick car, with proper muscle. The handling is comfy, safe and idiot proof when you want, say at 7/10 pace, but you take it by the scruff and really extend things, it can be a proper handful with some mental antics from the rear and requires deep concentration and nerve.
So there you go. One happy owner.
