TVRs seem to have steadfastly avoided the crazy price rises in the last year or so; I bought my 2001 Mk1 Tuscan with 65k miles last March for 28k (albeit from a specialist so top money) and recently someone on the FB page couldn't sell a similar, 75k miles and ostensibly very nice one for 23k! Suspect the mileage puts people off, but it has had an engine rebuild at the top guy so no idea! Not sure why TVRs (aside from the Sagaris) seem to refuse to appreciate but they do.
I suspect part of the reason is that people like to look like they are more of a talented driver than they actually are and a TVR is the perfect tool to show up your lack of talent. In short people in market for this sector of car are scared of them.

Retail prices are always rubbish for cars like that. Not mainstream enough

Are you on Mbforumuk? My last one sold on there. It was easy.

The EV performance equivalent of V8 saloons and estates are going to be circa £100k, so in my mind that will prop up the ICE values. Who really knows, buy what you like and can afford, even if prices tank.

The EV that’s replacing mine is not 100k.

J, I think your E500 would get a good reception on the Mbclub. As you're aware there are really very few and that's the place the ones that want one will look first.

I might be in the market for one, depending on how much you are looking for. I bought AC43’s last one off him! PM me if of interest

Hi fella,

Must admit I was very tempted by Me E's as the spec is great but I've recently stuck two rear air bellows, an Android head unit and a sub in mine.

He's got the pano and HK though, two things which I was sorely tempted by.

FWIW I still love mine. It's still tight as a drum. The 5.5 is like the 5.0 but turned up to 11. Sharper steering that the 211 too.

Hi A

Good to hear you are still enjoying the 212. The 500 is all the car anyone needs really.

I have been keeping an eye on prices of the E43 estates as I really like these too. Prices are finally starting to fall, but I don’t want to spend that much at the moment as we are having a big building project starting in the autumn and I will need every penny. Seems my life is mirroring yours with car choices and building projects!

Good luck, I’m dreading our build.

My wife told me it was just a new kitchen. The builders tell me they will be in for 5 months!!!!

I’ll be keeping the SLK55 Amg it’s £300 per year tax due to some clever cylinder shut off thing. Lovely to drive but it’s no Elise as it’s a heavy old girl. Had it 3 years and bored of it yet.

This is a couple of non supporting walls and a kitchen. They’ve quoted 3 weeks. I reckon 5 but we’ll see

I thought that all major building works were completed in 9 days.
That's what Nick Knowles keeps telling us, and his team spend at least three days of that messing around.

E43's are the natural successor but I want to wait until they're sun £20k. Don't like to tie too much up in a car tbh.

I’ll be offloading my E500 next week, and I’ll be glad to see the back of it. A very costly mistake.
