My personal experience is that the advertised bottom line figure for these ‘brand new’ is not quite as somber as your wallet may think - I gained a very, very strong trade in price for my C63s and a discount on an estate B3 last year, they seemed eager to make the figures work for me ( I paid cash for the difference, no potentially lucrative finance deals were involved )

No doubt lovely from behind the wheel but I really don’t like the wheel design on these, never have .. other than that, what’s not to like?

They are nice. It would be great if they'd do a forward bumper; the heavy-handed, angular detailing on the outer quarters clashes with, well, everything else.

I've come to like the M cars grill more than these, all that chrome out front I do not like and the wheels need 40mm of offset.

In the unlikely event I win the lottery, a B3 wagon would be my daily driver, no hesitation. I bloody love these, the mature man’s M3. Lovely stuff.

Hopefully you can paint the section of bumper the number plate sits on to be body coloured instead of black and remove the awful side decals, after which this would be just magnificent, so well proportioned. Would much rather have one of these than the M version.

power is still a little low for the diesel imo, has there ever been a 400hp+ saloon diesel in a 3 series size car in the UK?

it's annoying that there's cars like the c63 which is 510hp and we still haven't made it to 400 for the powerful diesels

Stunning. I'd love one of these. Hope they bring the B3 to the US.

Grab an Alpina while you still can!

Love those wheels, Alpina do the best wheels. Period.

The diesel is a bit under-pegged. The 355 bhp excludes the 11hp from the hybrid assistance which is instant at any speed and the substantial extra cooling package means it retains power in all heat conditions so in fact feels stronger than the numbers suggest. I managed a 4.3 dash to 60 in a touring D3S and subsequently placed an order.

Will Alpina use the nasty iPad-ish dashboard as well? Hope not. But anyway. When Alpina still was an independent company it was interesting - now, well ...

I think the B3 wagon looks fantastic. Green paint, brown leather, no stripes/decals and de-badge it would make the perfect daily for me. If I ever found myself with the monies one of these, a caterham, and something for road trips like a 360 spider would be a perfect garage for me cloud9

Also available in black - for more money.

What offset do BMW usually run? It tends to be rather low on German cars, compared to the much more centre-point +50 to +55mm I am used to. You vill like ze strut-jacking!

Lovely - this, BMW, is what we want!

More subtle / understated design and great performance. Would love to have a B3 estate some day
20" wheels/stickers down the side and on the front, plus massive quad pipes doesn't strike me as subtle!

The perception is that Alpinas are subtle, but the reality seems a lot different to me.
Agreed. How anyone thinks they're any more subtle than the equivalent M car is beyond me.

These are the bks. Love em. One of these, or maybe a B5 Touring would be my lotto win daily.

So much more classy than an M car.
