So is goodwood back to allowing proper all-out record attempts now?

Has anyone told the F1 teams??
Goodwood does what Goodwood does...

It's why you have known 'recreation' cars getting star billing at Revival (and some others with some very 'unusual' mods...) whilst Lord March goes on TV to whinge and claim lightweight E Types made by Jaguar themselves would never be permitted as they're 'replicas'.

It's all very different from the days of the first FoS, where he was out at 11pm the night before in overalls roller painting the bridge over the drive. Times have changed...

They do indeed. Apart from anything else, he's no longer Lord March.

True, but I really can't be fked to write 'His Grace, the Duke of Richmond, Lennox and Gordon' too often.

Whilst his surname is Lennox-Gordon, he goes by Charles March. Therefore Lord March (not the Earl of March, as his son now is titled) is still accurate.

The run that British Hill Climb Champion Alex Summers did yesterday was very impressive. I can't see former F1 pay driver Max "The Wallet" Chilton bettering it. I'm sure he has all his excuses lined up already though - he always did in F1.

It’s somewhat telling that the guy most likely to break the current hill record is one of the best hill climb drivers in the country. Let the British hillclimb championship contenders have a crack in 2023, Summers, Menzies, Gould et al in their cars, I guarantee an ICE car will take the record. If they are brave enough to hit 150mph at Shelsley, Goodwood will be a breeze
Yeah, that's the only reason it is fast. 'Cos the rest of the drivers going up that hill are fat blokes called Dave who can't understand why people would drive anything other than a Zafira....

I was at the FOS yesterday and sat in the grandstand opposite the house when this car went up the hill.

There was almost a stunned silence and laughs of disbelief in the grandstand as it passed - no one could believe how quick it looked on the straight. The sensation of speed is probably heightened by the fact that it followed a load of noisy ICE cars that were fast… but nothing like this.

I need to do some googling but the Porsche GT4 ePerformance looked rapid too, just not quite as rapid as this.

We are witnessing a massive shift in motorsport in my opinion, it’s an exciting time.

Driving that hill at proper speed in anything is pretty challenging, the road surface is a nightmare.
This little car is certainly spectacular.

The other thing that is so hilarious about it is the wake of dirt and debris that follows it, thrown out by the fan. It makes it look even faster still!

Ok, I take it back, Chilton just did a 39.140 just now. That's an unofficial record.

I apologise.

He’s a super good driver so I’m not surprised

The official timed run is at 3.30pm + isn’t it ?

That’s really interesting it looked insanely quicker to me on the TV.

Yes. This was timed but doesn't count towards the shoot-out which is, as you say, later on this afternoon.
