You could build something that looks and drives very similar for about £50k. That's £410,000 left over to make it look pretty and add a bit more lightness. I can't wait to see where the money has gone.
Yeah I feel like I'm not understanding the cost of this anymore, a lot of components can be bought and there are enough tuners that could sort it out. There's even a full carbon WRC panels you can get from Ireland for less than £10k last time I checked. Gearbox is a X-shift unit, dash is motec, brakes AP etc. You're being either naive in what it takes to create an OEM-level end or result, or insulting Prodrive with what they have created. I'm sure there is a decent amount of profit in this car, but it will be a long way from what you are imagining.
Just for context, Singer almost went out of business as they weren't making enough from their £1m+ creations.
Another week, another nice but very, very expensive restomod. These things are starting to get like crypto currencies. New ones being released all the time in the expectation of a bigger fool who will buy them for more at some time in the future....
What next - a restomod of the underappreciated Italian design classic, the Morris Ital ?

No gold wheels?
Prodrive P1 & P2 had grey wheels too so following history.Wonder if they appreciate the irony of doing this to a car renowned as a performance bargain that punched above its weight, to become a mega expensive thing that will probably get battered by most supercars at half the price or less.
It is a minor detail but I really can't get on board with the twin exit exhaust.

Lack of gold wheels means I'm not going to bother ordering one.
The price would also put me off a bit too..
Assuming the price isn’t a complete no then? The price would also put me off a bit too..
I will sort you some gold wheels for one percent of the asking price…., inc valves/tyres and genuine Oxfordshire air.
PayPal friends and family or cash up front?
There seems to be an ever more yawning gulf between the two tonne EVs and ugly blobs churned out by the established manufacturers and these restomods and re-imaginings.
Not everyone will like them all, but who's not daydreamed of how you'd update one of your favourite old cars using a combination of craftsmanship and new tech.
On the other hand I cannot think of a single new car on sale today that I would actually want, if I had the means.
Its almost like manufacturers have had the soul squeezed out of them by legislation and customer clinics.

Love it, long live this type of thing I can pretend spend by euromilllions on, after that Integrale a few years back, just hope someone does an escort cossie...
If I was being picky though...the 'canopy glass and area above the door line looks a bit big & tall....the windscreen being like a big heeed

Looks brilliant, although wheels look a bit big, I thought they were 20" at least so was surprised to read 19s.
As someone also mentioned above, it looks weird with a twin exit exhaust, which I'd never even considered as a possibility
Impressive price tag for sure, althoguh disappointingly close to being £555,000 as a cheeky nod, could they not get the maths to quite work out or is there a £3,000 inc VAT option for a set of 555 stickers?

Lovely looking thing but as a track day special would have to be careful
Still think the P1 is sublime here's one made earlier
