Corolla SR. If my memory serves me right, it was only a 1.3 but with a 6 speed box...
You got various low powered but 'sporting' fiat punto with a 6 speed manual box, great fun wee things

I was going to say the Nova Sport.

Also, how about the Daihatsu Cuore Avanzato TR-XX R4?

Saw one of these for sale the other week - I'd never heard of it but if I'd had a spare grand lying about I might have given it a punt

I think most people are aware of the Pirelli editions of various golfs, and will have seen the 25th Anniversary and 30th edition golfs, but for the mk6 they sneaked out this beast;

A rarer version of the MK2 Ibiza is the 1.8 16v GTI, only 3 remaining now and all SORN'd out of 97 registered.
Ooh lovely to drive and great engine, but not surprised there are no road going examples left, my brother’s was the most unreliable thing going, even by VAG standards.

How about

Bravo HGT 20v, 155hp and lovely 5 cylinder warble, but few sold.

Think I've seen about two of those out of my lifetime. They look awful in real life.
