There’s a lot of criticism of the Urus, but apparently not by anyone who’s owned one. I’m one of those people who believed that Porsche should never have built the Cayenne, till I drove one. I’ve been more open-minded since, and I’m now on my third Cayenne in eleven years.
A car only costs what it loses in depreciation. On that basis, the Urus is considerably cheaper than most of the other cars listed in this thread, and therefore better value.
Someone with some sense has arrived, welcome……it’s been in short supply thus far .A car only costs what it loses in depreciation. On that basis, the Urus is considerably cheaper than most of the other cars listed in this thread, and therefore better value.

Just calculating the number of people that would buy a 150k cupra.
Yep it is zero.
Exactly. But that’s what it looks like and from the same family, Seat just don’t get the big floor chassis, it’s not a Lamborghini and I have to say, they’ve no rear view mirror presence.Yep it is zero.
You can tell by the badge.
Irrespective of how good it is ‘because; Lamborghini’, people must be stark staring bonkers to pay way over it’s list price from a few years back.
Methinks when the market resets, some are going to get badly burned and the residuals, cast-iron as they are now, will tumble.
Mind you, if you can afford one. At the current market price, I don’t suppose it will bother you...

Pistonheads is about discussing cars and the thrill of driving a good one. This ugly beast won’t deliver 200K worth of thrills, but this isn’t a criticism of VAG and their strategic thinking. We’ll done to them, fair play, but this is pistonheads and not the Financial Times.
I’ll look forward to seeing it reappear in ‘The brave pill’ in 7-8 years time.

“ By any objective standard this is a fantastic vehicle whose all-round appeal has been seen and understood by more than enough people for it to have become a huge success.
“Any misgivings you might harbour about its Alderley Edge image vanish when you get your first taste of the performance and handling.”
‘Nuff said.

If purchased outright…. But how many of these are leased on PCP vs paid for?And if paid for did the buyer take a loan out to buy it? I would hazard a guess looking at the typical owner, that only a small percentage are fully paid for by footballers, the vast majority are leased by chemists.

Even footballers lease or get finance on cars. Pistonheads members do need to get with the times and understand that it is possible if luck and opportunity are on your side. To be in a position to own such vehicles. And if paid for did the buyer take a loan out to buy it? Oh and if you are a non rapping drug dealer, the last thing you would want is to be seen in a bright green urus.Oh and good luck buying a urus with dirty drug money.

"That'll be rubbish on my farm, it's not a Lamborghini."
Companies are allowed to diversify into different products. Suzuki started off making looms for the textile industry.

Someone who lives near me has one of these. It's generally a lady behind the wheel and I can just about see some sprogs in the back despite the best efforts of the privacy glass (they're obviously ugly.). It is also white, and as we all know, the onyl non-police car that looks good in white is the Opel Monza GSE.
To so summarise:
- Pointless SUV thing being used for the school run
- Chav tints
- White paint.
Finally, given theat I'm generally viewing this vehicle from a Range Rover, I'm sure you can imagine the massive range of derisive noises I make when it appears.
Except I don't. I bloody love the thing. I love its looks, I love the noise it makes, I even love it in white.
I hate myself. I'm sorry.
