What The Deuces said:
this car in OP was actually up for £17,995 and i seriously doubt that the additional £7k is worth it for options alone
Well, the original car will have been a lot more and its at a BMW dealer with warranty so at least 3k of that is in their margin.

Thing is the OP car is so basic it would be awful as a daily. The better one is overpriced but not rewarding enough to drive to be a weekend car.

Thats where we differ

As long as it has climate control and i'm able to connect my phone to the car then that's all i want really. I like heated seats but not a deal breaker and can be retrofit.

Honestly, the simpler the better for me. Peak 3 series for me was E91 LCi without i-drive

Base car with M suspension deleted - perfect as you can add Birds dynamic suspension mod so that it handles without marshmallow type wafting

Add M power and sound kit - 40 extra HP and sounds so much better (ps BMW dealers currently fit it at 50% discount)

Ask Birds to put Quaife LSD to replace open differential. No right minded sports car has an open diff. So traction sorted.

Then add Birds short shifter and clutch modulation to replace porridge of gearbox. So it now snicks between gears and you can actually feel clutch bite.

Add a few aesthetic mods eg gloss black wheels, black front kidney grilled and lightly tinted rear windows. And also replace horrible silver trim inlays with carbon fibre look wrapping.

All in - a lot less that £25k car mentioned in above comments for a car which will cause a M2 or M3 a good run for both noise and handling. Is the £25k car still that better deal?

And by the way, imagine you got the car for less than £19k with oil service and brake fluid carried out by BMW plus three new tyres.

What a sleeper car it would be or already it has become now…

You mention M2 or M3... this is not one of those - add the modifications, but leave it looking as it is - strong Q Car vibes, could be mistaken by those who think they know cars - but don't - for a 318i quite easily.

I have to laugh... over on that M135i thread people (incl me) are saying you'd have no idea how a M135i was treated - but the image is one of constant ragging. Here though is a "virgin" 340i and some posters are saying "remap and restyle". Proof that there is no pleasing everyone.
