RE: The best used supercars to buy right now
Discussion
The 'what makes a car a supercar' discussion was already had recently here, and was a surprisingly constructive one.
Probably best to take this list as 'if you want a supercar but this is your budget, this is what you could get' rather than looking too closely at the word itself.
Cerbera, R35 and Noble all seem good ideas to me - I can see the case for them.
An Auto NSX for £65k seems a bad idea unless you budget for not just the gearbox but also the cams etc to get it to manual spec. It's not that quick a car at best, but a torque converter auto on a VTEC engine, no thanks.
Everything I've read says an R8 drives better than a Gallardo, which leaves the Lambo as just for poseurs. Unless the improvements can be made aftermarket on the Gallardo?
All mainstream McLarens are fantastic value.
Although I like the look of the XJ220, I can't see it being a 'sky's the limit' ultimate choice given its reported limitations as a driver's car.

It must be in the PH journalists contracts to post articles that galvanise readers to go look in the classifieds at least 3 times a week.
Well, I guess that's one of the main sources of income for the site, and I for one don't mind a bit of 'wish list shopping' in the classifieds every now and then On the semantics of the whole thing: probably best to just change the word supercar to sportscar and avoid the endless posts on what is and isn't a supercar...

Well, to be fair, the classifieds are what pay the wages of the writers. 720S for me please, it’s mad that they’ve depreciated so much. Very much a proper supercar.
Money no object, the XJ220 is lovely - but it has to be an F1, doesn’t it?
I must be getting old because every car article published on Internet these days reads like its written by a 10 yeat old for their younger siblings. Full of errors, over simplifications and generally utterly uninformative? To be fair this is one of better ones, the yank sourced ones are simply terrible. Dont seem to be able to block them.

They all just want us to study classifieds these days, not study cars themselves anymore. What happened to technical excplantions, the science, the logic. All died years ago.

I do like a good explanation. I recently enjoyed this video explaining the 720S interlinked suspension system, and how it resists roll while remaining supple in other modes of wheel displacementFloyd1957 said:
