And with an old laggy turbo you could always change down when you saw an opportunity coming to get it working before you needed it. There will be drivers in the future unable to comprehend the interest in internal combustion engines because compared to electric cars they all lag.457892345 said:
Seat belt locking clip to fasten lap portion of the belt down so when cornering you stay put.
Probably the cheapest mod you can do and one which benefits the drive enormously. Surprised oems not cottoned onto it with the sportier cars.
Sadly the CG Lock is long discontinued. Are any alternatives available?Probably the cheapest mod you can do and one which benefits the drive enormously. Surprised oems not cottoned onto it with the sportier cars.

Modern automotive electronics are far too complicated containing things considered features, but are actually completely pointless.
And I'm an automotive software engineer implementing a lot of this stuff...
When I was delivering cars, older cars you could just get in and drive were preferable. Newer cars that needed a residential course or a lot of trial and error were a pain. Simple is good. And I'm an automotive software engineer implementing a lot of this stuff...
I have no interest in any supercar/sportscar built in the last 20 years or so. They just bore me to tears.
I like Rover 75s. So much so that I have owned three iterations, all diesel.
I think Landrover Defenders of all ages are pretty crap and don't understand the hype that surrounds them. (speaking as an ex owner of a 90)
I like the sound of old diesels like the Transit DI engine.
I really liked the Rover 200 "bubbles" with the diesel engine. So much so that I owned two versions and would happily own a third if I could find a non-rusty one.
I aspired to owning a Mercedes C43, but now, I can't see the point.
I drive a C200 saloon with an "ordinary" non cooking 2L inline four petrol turbo with a "mere" 184BHP and a zero to sixty dash time circa 7.5 seconds. It has fat 50 section tyres and an automatic gearbox.
Never once have I driven it and wished for more power or better handling. In fact, it is shaping up to be pretty much all the car I will ever need.
For that reason, instead of upgrading, I'm going to use my savings to buy something old, probably slower and less efficient and run it as well as the Merc.

I've always been a big Rover 75 fan. I was a tool maker apprentice when it was being development, and spent a significant time working on the tools for the doors and the front fenders (wings). I can't see one, and not have a look down the side of it, and admire the handy work that went into the feature lines, door handles and side repeater indicator holes.I like Rover 75s. So much that I have owned three iterations, all diesel.

Really well engineered too ..... I've never seen a rusty one.

7.5 to 60 is moderately perky in my view. That's about what my Golf does, and I don't push the go pedal all the way down very often. Never once have I driven it and wished for more power or better handling. In fact, it is shaping up to be pretty much all the car I will ever need.

Very rarely can I be arsed to put my A110 in manual mode, despite the internet saying it should have been a manual car...
I can identify with this... I consciously try and drive on the paddles but every time end up thinking what a faff it is when the auto is in the right gear at the right time 99% of the time. Also, I rarely see the need to rev it out as it weighs nothing and picks up quickly on a wave of turbo-torque so becomes a very fast car very easily without much downshifting. I find myself going plenty fast enough in 5th/6th on roads where the internet testers are wringing it in 3rd/4th and probably going no faster.
What it is however, is a real joy just to drive at modest speeds. So supple and responsive in its handling, properly comfortable and tangible lack of inertia. The benefits of lack of weight are genuinely obvious over anything else I've driven. That is the magic of the A110 for me, not its outright performance.
Oh, and I really, really like my i3s...

Yes it's literally called "seat belt locking clip" on amazon. Its better than a CG lock because it doesn't dig in and stays put much better, doesn't mangle the belt and costs next to nothing. Here is an image. You simply put it on the belt where feels best for you (above the clasp on the belt that goes into the locking mechanism) and once you have it in right position you will then feel that everytime as you go to lock the belt in place that its very tight and is "locked". Done right it will look like this.

You didn't say you preferred EVs, so you're fine (for now).
I now have a full EV but preferred my Prius. Does this mean I can keep my membership card?jamie w said:
Feel cheated if the odometer is changing from eg 59999 to 60000 and I miss seeing it change
Even moreso if it's a 99999 to 100000
If I miss the nice round number for my odometer photo collection, I take a 'just after' picture and doctor it in a photo editor.Even moreso if it's a 99999 to 100000
That's okay, isn't it? We all do it, don't we? You did say this just stays between us, didn't you?
