I had a Megane 275 Cup S and due to various reasons (unreliability, having two hillclimb cars, needing to transport ageing parents) I sold it and bought a Juke Nismo RS. I much prefer it as a daily, so much so that I've done 75k in it and don't especially want to move it on yet. There, I've said it
I really like these. What's the mpg like used daily? I only use my air con / blower to clear the windows and never for personal comfort. Unless the front window starts to fog when I'm driving and it's too cold to put a window down, the only other time I'll use it is when I've first got into the car and the windows are iced over. I read one time that it reduces the cars horsepower by ~ 3 / 4 bhp.
...I also never go above 3k rpm.

Less of a secret and much more a troll because the whole thing is just a nonsense. If I didn’t think you were a wind-up merchant I’d be getting pretty annoyed. ...I also never go above 3k rpm.
Most people know that if you don’t use your a/c, the seals in the system dry out and then the refrigerant leaks out. Which will mean you can then never use it. All so as not to “waste” a couple of horsepower.
And not ever going over 3k rpm? Drive the way you like, but you’re “wasting” far more horsepower by not letting your engine generate them.

I sold a V10 M5 estate and leased a Nismo RS Juke as it was cheap, and it was more amusing that it should have been. It also was the only car I've ever had that people have complement, including several random people at petrol stations.I am mildly tempted to buy a used one and do some suspension and exhausts mods which would make it even more fun.
(I have never understood why they didn't ever put that drivetrain into a Clio)
I dislike SUVs intensely, but I did get given a Subaru Forester to run as a daily alongside my Elise 10+ years ago and quite liked it.
Did drive it through fields and the likes semi-regularly, shame it committed the twin-sins of being uneconomical AND slow.

I've just turned 40 and new cars just don't excite me. I'll search out reviews of attainable early 2000's cars on YouTube than watch a video of the latest hybrid Ferrari or watch a Tesla beat a Porsche on a runway.
In turn from a driving point of view I'm content with the cars I have which date between 2001 and 2010 and believe they are perfect combo for my needs. They are also aesthetically pleasing, have a decent amount of power and aren't massive compared to their current models. The cars are an e39 5 series, R53 mini and L322 Range Rover. For me these are peak cars.

They did, the Clio Trophy 220 used that engine. I am mildly tempted to buy a used one and do some suspension and exhausts mods which would make it even more fun.

I merge-in-turn correctly and I feel good about it.

I really don't mind electric parking brakes.
Yes, everyone should merge in turn correctly and feel good about it.And...

Electric handbrakes though, you speak like someone that's never had one fail locked on and need to be lifted onto the back of a transporter to get it fixed. £200 before the garage has even opened. Or just use a cable, I don't know.
From memory that one didn't even put the handbrake on automatically to stop you rolling back on hill starts. FFS.
