TTRS was £51,495 only a coupe of years ago when launched. How on earth is this 90 fecking grand? ! For a feckin’ TT ! Jesus Christ.

Because it’s the last one ever and this is the beginning of the end for the 5-pot. Same for the R8 £200k because it’s the last V10 and the next one is an EV. The TT isn’t even being replacedhttps://www.topgear.com/car-reviews/audi/tt-coupe/...

Late 2016, so 6 years ago when the MK3 came about.https://www.topgear.com/car-reviews/audi/tt-coupe/...
I agree, there's no way that's a 90 grand car
No extra power, and just some added on bodywork bits?
And a dash of colour inside?

Tarted up golf, no matter what the engine. Driven them, didn’t see the point. If I want all weather distance crushing the Audi of choice would be an RS4. Alongside that I’d take a proper sports car. I really like to celebrate the variety of cars and not hate on anything, But really, I can’t see the TT as anything more than style over substance.
And a Urus and Bentayga are tarted up Audi Q8's. What your point? Most companies platform share these days.
RS4s are typically more expensive for a similar mileage and age than the TTRS.
Also 99.9% of people have no interest in running 2 cars I certainly don’t.
Therefore the TTRS fits the niche of everyday sports car at the ~£40K price point.
If I had the funds you suggest for an RS4 and a proper sports car I’d just be in the best 911 I could afford and daily it.

So 6 months in to TTRS ownership, 8,000 miles including several longer trips, a lot of dailying, a dull trip to the tulip fields of Holland in April full of traffic and speed cameras and an exhilerating trip across Spain in September which had to be one of th emost enjoyable drives I've had in years (thanks Harry's Garage for the inspiration). Also 99.9% of people have no interest in running 2 cars I certainly don’t.

It's an everyday sports car, great to drive, great to dawdle around in if necessary, surprisingly practical and not ruinous to run. I paid a little over £40k for a 2018 from an Audi dealer with 18k on the clock and all of the goodies you'd want. I consolidated from 2 cars (S3 Elise S and E82 135i).
Nearer £90k for a run out model though is a lot of money - at that point I probably would have been in some kind of 911. At the money I paid for mine I've no regrets at all.

I have a Mk1 TT Quattro Sport, alongside a wider collection including Exige V6, GR Yaris, Porsche, RS4 etc. I really enjoy it, great design, 240Bhp and really good interior.
I could do with reducing the number of cars I have, but it's so easy to drive, the cabin is really well resolved, great old fashioned big turbo torque. It's a cool thing.
I appreciate it for what it is, great design, easy to use, cheap to run. It's a properly good car that puts a smile on my face.

90 grand, oh give over, its nice, but its not 90 grand nice.
£90k is bonkers - I bet they manage to shift a few though.I like the TT-RS but I can think of many better ways to spend £90k on cars.
Does make me wonder who buys them and thinks "Yeah, 90 grand, for an Audi TT, sounds like a deal" ?
Different situation, different point of view but would love to know the background of those who do drop 90 grand on a TT, wonder what the typical career, age, gender etc is ? Please resist the obvious response to that bit.....

I'm guessing more are bought for 400 quid a month rather than 90 grand...Different situation, different point of view but would love to know the background of those who do drop 90 grand on a TT, wonder what the typical career, age, gender etc is ? Please resist the obvious response to that bit.....
Ironically the only hairdresser I ever knew (I don't have much need for one) in the summer used to daily an original 427 Cobra!

No one will drop £90k on a TT. I predict that every single one will be purchased with some form of loan which they will repay monthly. Cue the usual debate about PCP/PPP/whatever else it may be called.2Btoo said:

I doubt it, I think if someone is looking at a 90k lease they are going to skip right over the TT and look at something like Porsche. Plus the new TT just looks like literally every other new Audi with rear seat delete. I think it looks boring and slapping a wing on it won't change my mind.Bought a ttrs as a second roundabout
Fun on track until you drive 8.5 then the brakes suffer so a little upgrade their
Has 911 968s and all manor of other sports cars
Chasing a mcclaren through Switzerland passes and there was no let up means this is a mighty machine to drive
Does it take skill. Well not really but it’s still mighyly impressive and what ever people say It’s a true sports car for the road.
Cheap as chips as well.
Decision. Shall I spend 100k on a Carrera T. No chance. It’s just isn’t worth it
Who can complain 💪
