I suspect that as time rolls on, and we get closer and closer to the cutoff, there will be more and more pressure to reverse some of these ludicrous plans.

Prof Richard Lindzen talks about his work on IPCC and his concern for the mistaken narrative of Climate Alarmism and the way it will lead to the suffering of many.

Don't forget that this is the minority view, so consider the views of the majority scientific community.

And if you actually listen to what he says you'd see that it is not the minority view. The "consensus" is another piece of twisted information fed to the public by politicians and activists.

It may well be the majority view too but it appears to me that the consensus has been been bought.

There may be a consensus but it is not what the public is told to believe. Science has been replaced by "The Science (TM)" and if you want funding you will stay line. Yes, it has been bought.

Why don’t Lindzen’s incredibly wealthy backers throw their money at original research rather than simply funding talking shops?

Public service announcement
"The Science (TM)" is the latest conspiracy theorists phrase de jour. Put it in the same bucket as the likes of “sheeple”, “do your own research”, “global elites”, “WEF”, “Fauchiism,” etc.

It's always easier to label and dismiss it than it is to actually think about it.

Turn out the facts then. With the numbers. And then we can think about it.

The thread is full of no-numbers bks. Give us the empirical truth.

The facts and the numbers are available for all to read in the IPCC report(s) and the data behind them. You could waste your time reading them or you could listen to the people that actually worked on them, not the politicians that produced the summaries, the people who authored the reports.

They don't say what you are told they say.

Anyway, it's all academic because the policy makers are already committed to the narrative and we are all going to be the poorer for it.

Another one! You guys are amusing - you try really hard to extol the virtues of rubbish.

His view in the Scientific community is most definitely a minority one - his comments and papers have been peer reviewed and debunked: he is sponsored by Peabody to promote his views! A Scientist for Hire!

He is a Conspiracy Theorists darling.

Same old same old. Tar those that speak against the narrative as crackpots, conspiracy nuts and shills.

As I said earlier: the more this goes on the more people will begin to realise that we (in the west) are the ones making ourselves poorer while China, India and the rest laugh at us.

What is your research, thinking?

What expertise did you apply, when choosing the opposite view to the vast majority of the relevant scientific community?

It's not the vast majority of the relevant scientific community. That is just part of the narrative.

That's just a line that you have swallowed.

What is your thinking? What expertise did you apply while adopting your views.

Please be specific, otherwise you will never communicate your view effectively.

There are well respected climate scientists who actually worked on the IPCC reports and have given plenty of details and reasoning but you [the royal you] dismiss them as shills, crackpots and conspiracy theorists so why the hell are you going to listen to me. You can choose to listen to people who know what they are talking about and actually wrote the bloody reports or you can listen to government "experts" through the media and hysterical activists.

You make your choice. I'll make mine.
