Already said - the air filter change interval is 6yrs on a lot of cars - ie VW Tiguan (so likely everything VAG):

I ignored that and do my 2 years or 20k, 60k seems excessive to me, an OE filter is 15-20 quid.

Mann seems to be OE I order my 1st one from the dealer £23.48 second one direct parts £14.89 today.
I assume VW think it'll be OK or they'd specify a shorter interval - it's hardly a big deal to change an air filter.

My point is that poster's jaw shouldn't have dropped - for a dealer serviced car it's quite possible they hadn't done anything wrong.

Sadly my VW/AUDI Service plan is very basic, it allows for oil and filter, inspection video and cabin filter every 2 years, anything else is extra and not discounted in anyway in my experience, I will be glad when mine ends this year.

3 services was £640

Extras Break fluid year 2 £67

Haldex diff oil changes £127

Air filter (although mine is 60k but I changed at 20k 23quid) £35

Spark plus is £140, year 4

so 3 services £997.00

Loan cars vary from dealer to dealer some charge £15
£140 for plugs, pah. Peanuts.

Aston servicing, V12, in addition to 'normal' service cost, there are a number of additions, including: "7. At 70,000 miles spark plugs must be replaced* add £1,150."

Just been quoted on a "major" service for my 2021 SQ7 Vorsprung. Includes brake fluid and and oil change. Car has done just 6000 miles. £1050 at an Audi main dealer!! I'm gobsmacked!
Gotta love PH sometimes.

Someone posts to say they're shocked at being quoted £1050 for an oil change and brake fluid change. Within a day, he's been told that "that's too low a mileage for a diesel" and that he "bought the wrong engine for his usage" (the car is actually a petrol).

Then he's told that "Audi Owners... have no idea of servicing costs" and that £1000+ is a bargain price for a first service, given that it's a 500bhp car.

Personally I think the dealer pricing is taking the piss, both for the SQ7 and for the Alpine A110 that the OP mentioned. The Alpine shouldn't cost multiples more for an oil change than an RS Megane (with which it shares it's engine). And the SQ7 shouldn't cost multiples more than a bog standard Q5 or Q7.

With both of these cars, I would take them to an independent specialist, especially if I was planning to keep them for a few years.

yeh I got SQ7 wrong they used to be diesels.

£1000!

Seems excessive but its a big engine and a S car in comparison to other luxury SUVs its not out of ordinary known people who pay 2k for range but then that's not an issue for them.

Quick look on the Audi website with 21 plate SQ7 reg throws up an inspection value of between in the south £563.56 - 750.15 so dealer prices do seem to vary and OP has been over quoted unless maybe its central london!

So you can save £400 buy shopping around.

£70 for BF.

Do you not think if £1000 is not insignificant sum then when you buy the car you not check the cost of insurance and running costs? When I bought my VAG car I did and bought a service plan to spread the cost factored that into it.

In terms of a 2.0 tdi inline 4 q5 has a much different engine to a 4.0 v8 TFSI lump more oil bigger engine will take longer to change oil filter will be larger I guess.

I have seen a guy with 60k PCP deal into a 2.0 tdi Q5 Vorsprung which translates to 'Projection' from German. Is it to project wealth perhaps as you ticked the VS Edt box is just the loaded trim level above sline, black line.

I assume that will be going to WBAC the second the warranty expires?

If you're selling a car via WBAC, Cazoo, Motorway, etc - is there any value in FMDSH or is FSH sufficient? I'm going to be selling soon but it's due a service so can't decide what to have done and where to have it done (technically needs a service and DSG oil change)...

Yep, we have had an XC90 B5 from enterprise for the last 5 months, we rather like it
