Nor do I, however they have rather shot themselves in the foot as regards the payload and the price. As for the rest of the world, it won't probably be sold in the USA due to the Chicken Tax. Go figure.
I don't think the station wagon will be affected.

Fair enough. The bigger issue in the US is it's too pricey to compete with Jeep and Ford and not a brand/too agricultural to compete with LR, Merc etc

Whilst nobody seems to know the point of the Grenadire, it’s certainly not the same thing as a Bronco, which is just a Ranger in a frock for the US leezure market.

Maybe patriotic French buyers will lap it up?
I think it might struggle in its home market. smile I'm not sure if the draconian C02 and weight taxes have been implemented in France but for something of comparable weight and emissions (Bentayga) the plan was for about eur36,000 of taxes on top of the VAT-inclusive price according this article from 2020.

I don’t wish failure on it. Is it just the UK regulations relating to tax etc that it just falls foul of? If so there is a whole rest of the world out there.

Sell it with removable seats in the bed like the Subaru Brat in the 80s?

A trend is now emerging on here claiming that posters are commenting on a car they will never buy. This would eliminate many Ferrari posts, then! Having had a good look at a Grenadier Station Wagon I would like to vote “yes”, but I do not buy brand new. (Financial including probable divorce costs ,and out of habit) There must be others in this category, so any Ineos critiques are potentially useful.

It better be good off-road because it ain't gonna sell on looks unless you love ungainly, visually top-heavy pastiche versions of previous land rovers.

Bet it has all that tacky James Bond style switchgear inside like the SUV too.
Yes the switchgear is military ( or even light aircraft) in style but it feels strong and durable.

Must admit after initially being negative about them, I eventually warmed to the idea (although remained highly sceptical about the commercial viability of the whole thing)

However I sat in a RHD one last week and was pretty disappointed, the lump where the gearbox is and where your left foot wants to be is ergonomically poor. Also the interior looked chunky but it felt cluttered and mismatched. Plus that pick-up variant looks like a Santana to me which isn’t a compliment!

Now everything has gone mad I think the only thing it has going for it is ironically the bemoaned price, but I can’t imagine they’ll be able to maintain that for long.

Out of interest has anyone actually broken normal switchgear in anything bar being in a decent sized crash?

Even the Berlingo which had an interior hewn from chocolate box internals and luck proved to be durable enough.

There was a problem. A significant minority of owners liked their old Defenders. Some on here said they knew they were fairly awful but that didn’t deter them, nor did the jokes about sailing a narrow boat along the door shuts which, like the Great Wall of China, were visible from outer space (an alternative version said you could get in without opening a door) ,nor did the pre-dented Birmabright alloy panels. The four blokes in the Grenadier pub identified this problem and the solution is this 4x4 .So, given its conception, the solution is rugged and strong and not a School Run Special.
