From that list, the SL500 for me. Also, I've never really been drawn to Alfas, but that Spider V6 is quite tempting.
+1Not a big fan of folding hardtops, but the sl looks great and a v8 is another strong argument.
Didnt know that you get a good one for 10grand. Could be an idea....
The alfa looks just great and the v6 cant be that bad, so for an open car...
But never drove one and cant say if the driving is as flawed as others say
350Z convertible is a horrible car. Nasty feeling scuttle shake and the extra timber it has on the coupe for strengthening makes it feel pretty cumbersome. As per usual the golden advice is if you want a convertible sports car then buy one that was always designed as a convertible and not something with the roof lopped off with a saw by the marketing people.

Whilst everyone is entitled to an opinion, yours on the Z is substantially out of step with most, both expert and amateur. They do drive very differently from the Boxster and the other cars on the list, but not in ways that highlight flaws. CameronG said:
I love all generations of the Miata, but I'd take an NC because of its more muscular design, while still retaining the Miata's design theme of retro inspired elegant simplicity. IMO the best looking Miata generation
Same. Actually hoping a nice NC with BBR conversation will be priced for less than or around 10k by the end of this year. paulguitar said:

FIAT Barchetta ,plenty of low mileage cars easily under 10K .
"Oh but it's LHD and wrong wheel drive"
Bore off , it takes 2 minutes to get used to steering from the correct side .
But how will I order my drive thru coffee at Costa?!"Oh but it's LHD and wrong wheel drive"

Having braced myself for the usual barrage of hairdresser (or maybe nail technician) comments I'd like to put a case for the SLK 350.
I've had 3 of these, and they've been really good cars. Of course they're not out and out sports cars like the Boxster, but they're good to drive, fairly quick, cheap (for a Merc) to maintain and the metal roof does actually work very well. It's a shame they've stopped making them, as I'd have been quite happy to buy an upgraded version.
In fact I'm now in a serious dilemma, as the number of convertibles available has diminished dramatically, and as I can't quite stretch to a Portofino I really don't know what to go for. My current SLK is now 9 years old, which is by far the longest I've ever owned a car, but what to swap it for? Most of the convertibles I like are now in classic territory, but I really don't want to run one as an everyday car.
I can't help thinking that the decline in production of convertibles has tracked the decline in cars being seen as enjoyable rather than purely functional ...

How do you avoid buying any of those that have a hidden 4 figure bill within the first 3 months?
Well you can't 100% if you are really worried about that you buy the lexus? The 645 cost a lot less than £10K so you have a contingency budget
The Jaguar i've no knowledge of to assess
The SLK32 what you pay in maintenance you won't lose in depreciation.
three v8's and a hand built supercharged V6
Barge/niche/special/thirsty/high running costs vs nimble/sporty/common/less thirsty/lower running costs take your pick
I'm agast that it's taken over 5 pages to get to the first Jaguar suggestion. I would have thought the utterly gorgeous XK8 convertible would have been much higher on PH consciousness, and certainly made the article list. Especially considering some of the less than attractive suggestions made thus far.
