Only in stiff upper lip, I'm posher than thou england. And maybe Switzerland. Everywhere else seems OK with nice cars.
France also. Though the sentiment is possibly less prevalent today than in the past, the notion that having an expensive, flashy car is course and bourgeois is still a real thing.

In fact I'm hard pressed to think of any society (current or historic) which doesn't have some sort of casually codified system which deems some forms of wealth projection okay and others not.

Came across one of the original movie cars in a bodyshop in the West Midlands a couple of months ago, currently being restored to as it was when used 'on set' so be interesting to see whether or not it starts popping up at the odd car show... Owner had found it in the states and brought it over here to restore, think he also owns a Charger that was used in Bullitt at some point.
I wonder if that was the Black Challenger that appeared alongside a Highland Green Mustang at the NEC in 2014, I'd post a photo but I am a newbie so no can do....

After many years observing all manner of shenanigans in the world of 'original' racing cars from eons gone by I have become quite sceptical of anything claiming to be original.

Of course in films, like Bullit and Vanishing Point, and there were of two films called Vanishing Point featuring white Challengers, many cars would have been used for different stunts and shoots ...
