These things are everywhere in the US. Admittedly the lesser powered versions but still, they're a dime a dozen. Usually driven by kids.
Awful thing. Just crap. Remodeled versions of a classic car probably go quite well with the mock Tudor houses of certain Californian suburbs.
I drove a V6 Hertz rental about 800 miles through Florida in November. I took it for a slowish couple of laps around Sebring, a bit wallowy and the 245 section rear tyres a bit slidy. I thought it was perfectly ok, damned with faint praise maybe, but I'd not turn my nose up if offered one. The are 3/4 visibility was a shocker though.Awful thing. Just crap. We had a right laugh thrashing it up to and through yosemite.
Fair play to them for the performance numbers (1 foot rollout though??). That said, what's it like as a daily? How much fuel does it use? And will it pass legal driving requirements if you have a parachute? Because in some jurisdictions you may not.
I personally would rather a Tesla, because it's quiet, won't ps off anyone near me, and won't attract attention from the police, or thieves. I'd rather be able to just get from A to B without being hassled by any idiots, and without going broke from crazy fuel bills.

Crazy stuff like this s part of the petrolhead world. Good to have the outliers.
Of course we can admire the Ferrari Purosangue , 992RS, the AMGs, the real exotics like the Valkyrie etc but this thing in the US can actually be bought. Of course it's a drag car, but fit for purpose.
Do I want one? Absolutely not, but I am glad it exists and that there are people to buy it

That's quite a final version!!
>1000hp , 8.9 Second 1/4 mile time for a road legal car albeit on fancy tyres is a hell of a bit of kit to be able to drive to the drag strip, do some runs and head home again.
Similar quarter mile performance to the top grade supercars McLaren 765lt+P1 , Ferrari SP90, Bugatti Chiron & Tesla Plaid

Built to a price. What is impressive is how long Dodge have kept the model going for so long! Its essentially the same model from 2008 and to be fair, they have done a good job in gentle updates over that time. However, its still built to a particular price point.
Don't the roots go back further - to the W210 E-class that Dodge inherited from the MB-Chrysler tie-up?RDMcG said:

and this ^^^ is the right attitude 100% There are lots of cars I think are vile (or flat out don't understand why people are obsessed with them) but I'm glad they exist in our broad motoring churchpycraft said:

Pointless rubbish.
Hmm, just because you don't like it, doesn't make it rubbish.Personally, I've tried BMW 7 series, 5 series and 3 series, including an M5. All were sold within a year, dull and bland. Sorry but I really don't care about the quality of the plastics on the dashboard.
Good cars - not for me.

Me too, or a Lucid Air. Then you can accelerate fast without imposing your noise pollution on everyone else.I personally would rather a Tesla, because it's quiet, won't ps off anyone near me, and won't attract attention from the police, or thieves.
