I think you'll find the Century has a wool fabric interior not velour. (Stands to be corrected)

Edit: Yep, wool: https://mag.toyota.co.uk/what-makes-the-new-toyota...

Quite right!

But it wins the no leather option!

My 2006 Galaxy had velour sides/backs of seats, only the base was a different fabric.

Our 2008 Civic has velour seats which are great in winter and summer, just a shame the seats themselves aren't more supportive:

Just a shame they are such a PITA to keep clean after the leather in the BMW.

ah that must be what my celsior has then.. it's a bit hard to find what it actually was sold as, many say wool and that's what I believe it is as its extremely soft and nice and was a rare optional extra.

In 1983 my Mum had an XJ 12 with velour and in 87 she had a Saab 900 Turbo with velour!

What was the fabric in late 80s Range Rovers? I loved it, I did thousands of milies winter and summer with one, the last thing I wanted was leather in that car!

The Mondeo rocked velour when it was launched in the mid-90's

I know these weren't the last cars to have velour, and I can't explain why, but I've always had a bit of a liking for Vauxhall/Opel velour interiors of the 1980's.
Even if they are a bit garish eek

I'd rock this one. The other two are awful.

Imagine finding this as a long stored barn find... the interior would look untouched.
(Having the dash & central console in the same colour is way OTT).

My 2009 Subaru Forester had what I can only describe as a sort of courdory velour. Was actually very comfortable and in a dark colour did not look too bad.

I think a 2010 Prius I had for 9 months in 2013 had velour, or something very like it. In grey, to match the grey dashboard and every other item in the interior.

The best thing about real velour is that it is resistant to sham-paggun.

Love those Vauxhall/ Opel interiors. They really did velour the best followed by Ford’s with their Ghia’s.

I remember my MK2 Cavalier GLS with a Brick Red Velour Interior. I absolutely loved it as I did with the Black Velour in my Mirafiori Sport. As a child in the 70’s / 80’s I was a big fan of Velour.

My last car to have it was a 96 Vauxhall Vectra 2.0 CDX, that was a car I particularly liked. The wife had a 99 Fiesta Ghia that had velour (and plastic wood). That was the last velour car in the family.

I don’t think it will make a comeback as cloth interiors have got better and Alcantara and Leather are more mainstream. I think velour is one for the history books.

I was looking at an advert for a 2015 Honda CRV earlier which looks to have velour or at least ‘part velour’ seats.

Back in the 90's, for an extra £1400 on top of the price of an S Class, you could spec your car with "Amaretta" upholstery. It was like soft suede - very luxurious and with no long term wear quality at all! A very rare option - I don't think I've ever seen a car specced with it in the flesh

Velour

Amaretta

Quite recent Toyota landcruisers (LC3?) have them I think, certainly not all are leather.

edit there is at least a 2011 with it on autotrader

My 2009 Prius had, probably, cloth seats but whatever it was was very soft and fuzzy feeling. It didn't feel like a woven fabric.
