Two oceans?
I feel this needs explaining by PH Ed. LOL.He clearly means two seas. Mediterranean & the Cantabrian Sea (which becomes the Atlantic as it hits the Bay of Biscay, some would say *is* the Atlantic).

The Jaguar brand name will survive, however whether TATA sell it to a new Korean or Chinese owner in the near future is another thing altogether.
As I posted elsewhere, I got talking to an external consultant to JLR a couple of weeks ago.He stated the future plans for Jaguar are well in hand, the downside is, the word he used for their new EV range plan & design was 'Presidential' rather than 'Sporting'.

It may be a downside to traditional Jaguar fans and us sports car fans here in the UK but it's what Jaguar need to be in the global market. The trouble is, whilst we all love the idea of sports cars or sports saloons that you can hustle down a twisty B road, outside of most of Europe they don't really have twisty B roads so these types of cars just don't make any sense. Asians want large comfortable saloons with lots of room in the back. Other markets want SUVs. The opposite of what Jaguar is known for. So they need to change that and we need to accept that there will never be another E-Type or Mark 2 Jaguar. If Jaguar can build some uber saloons etc. that most of us can only aspire to owning, well at least that's better than building cars no-one wants. He stated the future plans for Jaguar are well in hand, the downside is, the word he used for their new EV range plan & design was 'Presidential' rather than 'Sporting'.

Thank you It does but there have been a few times I've wished it was just a little bit quieter, especially on start up - like a family funeral for example..
I do love it though, it still puts a smile on my face after all these years driving it and biased though I obviously am I love the way it looks and sounds in the upper rev ranges.
I've got the same engine in an F-Pace. it's a 72-plate so has the 'quieter' exhaust note (post GPF?), but I do think, for me, and for that car, it is a perfect blend of raucous V8-ness, but the ability to be a little more subtle.I do love it though, it still puts a smile on my face after all these years driving it and biased though I obviously am I love the way it looks and sounds in the upper rev ranges.
Cold starts are still enough to waken the neighbours until the revs settle, and pressing on still raises smiles and shaken fists in equal measure....but with the active exhaust button deactivated and more cautious use of the throttle, it is almost discreet. Almost.

I've always had a real soft spot for these. Such a lovely looking thing(although I prefer the pre facelift headlights). That engine!
This. A lovely car overall, with a fantastic engine with the early V6 or V8 options. Shame about the facelift though - it looked better beforehand.I'd still love to have one - this has a lot more character than the 911 (992), even if it isn't technically as good.

Sometimes it might be nice to give people writing on free-to-use car sites a tiny bit of slack, or employ a little intelligence if you are genuinely uncertain.
He clearly means two seas. Mediterranean & the Cantabrian Sea (which becomes the Atlantic as it hits the Bay of Biscay, some would say *is* the Atlantic).
Yes, it is a free to use website, but that does not excuse the gaffs, inaccuracies, and sometimes, shockingly poor writing by the authors of these articles. He clearly means two seas. I presume they are salaried journalists and should respect their profession by raising the standard of their copy.

This. It is quite amazing that the British car industry backs itself into niches that are free of competition, because other car markers have correctly identified them as being unsustainable. People who buy luxury cars do not wan't to hustle them down bumpy b-roads while being cramped.
Wusses!!Good write up I thought, if a bit depressing!
That spec really doesn’t do it justice though. A lighter shade and silver wheels for me, and a convertible! Oh and pre-facelift
I always thought the F type missed a trick by being priced so close to the 911. Should’ve been a fantastic sounding muscle car rival to the boxster imo

Was all set on an Emira to replace my Exige 350 with something more usable for GT stuff with the good woman,, but just couldn’t get excited about the Emira for some reason.
Decided to forego the Lotus handling prowess for something with a totally different character and not really comparable and plumped for a bit of jag f-type v8 theatre and bought a 8000 mile old P450 AWD in racing green for mid 50k’s. It’s not got a lot of warranty left so I’ve just remapped it, I’m told the power train is mechanically identical to the p575, so with the map alone you’re upto almost 600bhp for well under 60k and its really good fun to rumble about in without spending R money.
It’s a third car for us but really enjoying taking it on road trips so far, it’s one of those cars that’s not best in class in any single discipline, but emotively manages to be greater than the sum of its parts, it’s got a pretty infectious character that you can’t help but enjoy and I still think they look great even in facelift form.
Couldn’t pay the new price for one though, but don’t begrudge anyone that does so that more people can experience them used later on.

Just bought a XK Dynamic R, with the detuned (!) version of this engine at only 510 bhp. Hilariously quick. And sounds magnificent on song. Was also looking at RWD F types but none came up in the right colour for me.
Can only image how much fun a smaller, more powerful, more modern version is. An old man’s hooligan TVR. Enjoy.
