Edit: Also getting rid of their old, fantastic, HVAC control knobs to integrate them into the infotainment system? Literally undrivable.

(Other stuff snipped).

The HVAC controls can be seen on the row of switches below the central air vents. Yes, not as good as rotary knobs, but not touchscreen operated.

Also, while touchscreen controls are a PITA, ‘literally undriveable’ is pushing it to the extreme…
Those little buttons don't look like the main A/C controls, plus there is an A/C icon on the touchscreen.

They certainly look like the main controls to me, with their outputs (settings) on display at the bottom of the main screen - along with heated seats / steering wheel controls (on the screen that is)...

Yep, thanks, that’s how I interpreted it.

I had a rental one if these in Iceland and really didn’t warm to it at all. All the rentals have studded winter tyres so a Hyundai Tucson I’d had on a previous trip could do everything the Duster could in complete whiteout conditions whilst being a far nicer place to be. I realise there’s a cost difference but I couldn’t wait to hand back the Duster. Neither can wade through a river on an F Road.

Wonder if it will finally get a decent NCAP score?

If you watch the CAR magazine video on YouTube it is made clear that the HVAC can be controlled by the buttons below the screen. Not quite as good as rotary controls in the current duster/jogger but way better than touchscreen only. I really like that the driver "aids" can all be switched off with one button. I hate lane assist but realize Dacia has to fit it to new models due to E.U law.

Seems a bit odd they are going to a 3 cylinder 130ps engine when they already have the 4 cylinder 130/150ps Renault engine which can be manual or auto. Only way to get auto in the new one will be the hybrid.

Irritating isn't it. Hybrid isn't a proper Hybrid, so adds complication for no benefit, 1.0 is the petrol/lpg also complicated for no benefit and won't be allowed though the channel tunnel.

Not sure why it's not a 'proper' Hybrid. We have a Jogger Hybrid with the same drive train. It does around 60mg. Most time pulling away is purely electric, which makes it feel quicker than it is, as there's instant torque from the battery. It's a small battery but is constantly topped up so a lot of cruising is electric too. It works really well. Maybe you mean Plug-in Hybrid.

NCAP was hijacked by the component manufacturers years ago pressing for their latest electronic systems to be fitted to get the top star ratings.... you know, all the annoying stuff people switch off as soon as they start the car.

Dacia have said they refuse to fit that stuff as it is not wanted by their customers so no 5 star ratings, but in a crash it is just as good as any other car and lets not forget their parent company Renault have been NCAP leaders for 2 decades and had the first ever 5 star car when it was only about crash test performance, although they also have suffered from "re rating" of existing cars every time the goal posts were moved with all this speed detection and lane change stuff being added in order to now get the top star rating

It doesn't affect me as I don't tow anything but the Auto 150 duster had a tow limit of 1500kg. Doesn't the hybrid 140 have a limit of 750kg?

They might have said that, but suspect it was more about the cost involved in trying to fit to older Renault platforms. Now they're on the newer one they'll have them.

Think the confusion is there are two Hybrid system, a mild 48V one, and then the "proper" one in your Jogger, which sounds ideal. Put my name on this list, looks interesting.

Better styling than the current crop of BMW's

Which is alarming really. A cheap Euro second make bucket that looks more desirable than a top end Euro stalwart

Decades old, reheated Renault tech clothed in a bland, unobtrusive, but 'bold' body, no frills and sold at a low price. Always a hit with consumers who don't care what they drive as long as they can convince themselves it's cheap.

Haven't they hired a proper designer or do I misremember? They also haven't got much styling legacy, unlike BMW, who must respect the kidney grille, even if it looks st.

What a dumb post wobble

Page 1, it’s based upon the CMF-B platform
Which came out in 2019

CMF -B LS I read, as in low spec, as opposed to HS. I wonder how it differs?

That stuff is unfortunately becoming a legislation minimum requirement so that's why they are fitting some of it, again after pressure from Component manufacturers and NCAP . They recently put out a statement saying how disappointed they are that car reviewers encourage people to switch off the beeping annoying items so will be pushing to have it changed so they can not be disabled.....

Not sure on that tbh
But CMF-B isn’t Decades old, reheated Renault tech!
