All looks good apart from the new dash - what’s that all about?!
It does look rather Fisher Price doesn't it? bencollins4 said:

Quite! If this is released in June that will be when the final payment on mine is due which will be around £14K The car will be 3.5 years old and perhaps worth £24K as a trade-in. If the new one is £40K then that's a £30K cost to change and tbh I'm not sure its worth it.I’d happily put up with the new dash (anyone not buying a performance car due to the dash is looking for excuses not to buy one) if it reduces the peering through a letterbox feel the mk1 had.
Wonder if the auto helps reach emissions targets for the fleet?
Full marks to Toyota just for keeping with it!

Well, it looks like it’s happening, then! All looks good apart from the new dash - what’s that all about?! All my wife would like to know is does the Passenger seat still need resetting after you’ve moved it to get the kids in the back?
Pricing news will be interesting - less than £40k?
The passenger seat thing is the reason we can’t have one either!Pricing news will be interesting - less than £40k?

Great updates!! Takes it from a non starter to actual contender for me, auto box a must and a love a digital dash ( if it displays sat nav directions on it etc)
Will this knock prices of the mk1 much I wonder?
Lot of current owners worried about that, which is a weird thing to concern yourself imo. Will this knock prices of the mk1 much I wonder?
Prices have softened considerably in the last 6 months or so as the inflation and lack of cheap money has really kicked in. Having said that, you could have enjoyed your £33k car for three years and only lost about £7-8k in that time, meaning the car has retained about 75% of its sticker price. That's good in anyone's book.
It could also be like the new Type-R in that, if the uplift in the new car's RRP is severe enough it might actually cause prices for the original to firm up as it will look like a relative bargain for what is effectively much the same car.
Will probably order one of these - missed out first time round and refused to pay over the odds for one. Managed to get a GR86 at list price instead, which itself is a great car.
I’d have the Yaris as a manual… sure the auto will be faster and easier to drive, but in today’s world it’s still gonna get a kicking at the lights from some electric thing so may as well have the manual and enjoy all that goes with it.

Bought one at launch and sold it in May this year and still wonder if it was the right decision as I keep looking at them now the prices have dropped from when I sold and really can't find anything to replace it as a fun car. It did have a few things that were questionable about it that have been discussed many times but when you were on the right road it was amazing to drive with so much grip.
Unless I find something else over the next few months I will definitely be taking one for a test drive and most likely be buying one to fill the void.

Great to see Toyota are still making these (and have bothered to facelift it), I was sure they'd already pulled the plug!
I had an order in for one (ordered 2020), but had to cancel after 5 months as I didn't have the money, nor the need, nor the space.
Very tempted with this though, although it will be ~ £40k
