They look like great fun for a grown up boys toy. But pricey.

All respect to those that get their hands on them and I can see the flippers lining up already.

At under £40k I would have one but not at that price for a Yaris. I’m sure it’s worth the £45k to some but just not for me

I’m sure they will be future classics and be a fantastic car.

Now I’m off to look at an F-type R / SVR at that price point.

Very tough call.

12k+ uplift on the MK1.

Sounds like you can't buy it anyway unless you're an existing GR Yaris owner [or] joined the waiting list for the car before its closure in May 2022 according to https://media.toyota.co.uk/toyota-announces-pricin...

So that's actually the main barrier to ownership rather than the high pricing!

It only says there is limited availability for 2024 cars.

Assume that if you’re happy to wait then you’ll be able to get one in 2025 or later.

Looks good, I am going to put my interest in with my local dealership for an auto, so will see what happens.

Dealerships have no say in this so save your time. All being run from HQ. The note to dealers mentions 2025 stock is unknown and will be allocated in January and that will dictate if they continue a ballot or not.

Why did this bother you. I never said it wasn’t old vs new. I’ve not slated the Yaris. I think it’s brilliant and great that Toyota are making it.

I simply expressed that in my opinion (we’re all allowed them last I checked) it’s too expensive.

It was the “for a Yaris”. I’m not made of money but I’m also realistic that cars in general are more expensive than they’ve previously been. Don’t forget about 10 years ago there was a Fiat 500 for £53k! So £45k for a Yaris isn’t as bad as it sounds.

True - hopefully I'll get on the ballot.
Epic little car.

Absolute fking wkstains.

I don't have the last one because I couldn't have one of the last ones, I don't have the required amount of limbs for a manual transmission. And because of that I can't have the new one I was really looking forward to? aholes.

Oh, of course I could have joined the wait list for a car two years ago before it was announced it would have an auto...

Its just for the 2024 allocation.

Presumably you can order one for after that.

Whether you regard it expensive or not - its not the bargain it was at 30k. At 45k or thereabouts you are competing with seriously good hot hatches - like the Civic Type R or Golf R. A Cayman isn't that far up the road. I can't see much scope for Overs (which is IMO good) and, depending on the UK allocation, there maybe quite a few who are eligible who will pass. So I think if you really want one, I'd hang in there and pester dealers.

Isn't this bad news for the current car and owners, seems "a lot" better than the old one.

Old car owners get first dibs on the new car.
