How would a used audi ttrs for similar money compare? And if bought cheap enough some better suspension etc fitted thoughts ?
That would be a tough one! I reckon the Yaris would likely be the better car to thread down a country road, but the engine and performance of the TTRS is on another level, although I imagine it'll be far more costly to run too.All in theory as I've driven neither

In terms of future collectability, years down the line...
Will people want the original and pure manual original version, or the possibly better to drive, quicker (lets call it the) MK2 version?
Worth thinking about if you are uhming and ahing about swapping an original for the newer version, with the intention of them being "keepers".
Bit like the Clio V6, original raw version or slightly refined 2nd editionWill people want the original and pure manual original version, or the possibly better to drive, quicker (lets call it the) MK2 version?

Toyota should offer them to existing owners first, as someone has already said they just took delivery of their car after waiting two years for it...so why do others expect just to walk in and buy one, not really fair is it.
I like that Toyota have listened to the grumbles of current owners and made improvements to the new car...but is it just me or does the new dash layout look oddly shaped, its driver focused definitely but I'am not sure if I like it or not, best to wait till a car is available to have a poke at.
Will I change mine for one, I doubt it...all its little foibles says chatacter to me and I love the fact that its a bit compromised, there hasn't been one time while out driving I've thought this thing is a pain in the arse because of this and that, plus I'am a big fan of needle speedo and tacho gauges in a dashboard...and I've just spent £800 having the roof done.

I thought the interior of the pre-facelift was awful - like proper cheap little st-heap awful. That much money for something with a worse interior than a base spec Fiat 500?... Come off it.
This looks like a different kind of awful. I don't care about mechanical changes, it was already fine and I've already forgotten what the changes are, but why not actually put a nice interior in it?

I think I might have to order one for the wife, I already have the current model which is a fantastic car. My wife drives a Yaris hybrid which we are going to replace fairly soon but she likes auto's so this will fit the bill.
That's my thinking at the moment. Buy an auto version for the wife.Klippie said:

But then if all original owners (I'm one of them) took up all the allocation for the MK2, then those who missed out on the MK1 won't stand a chance of getting a MK2 either. Not really fair on them is it.Edited by Klippie on Friday 12th January 11:24
If you really want a MK2 get onto your dealer now and place a deposit.
I know the people waiting for their cars had the inkling the refresh was coming, but must grate a bit seeing a objectively 'better' one coming out
I was eagerly awaiting the FL5 though, but the price announcement gave my screen a tea wash so kept the Fk8. Will be very interesting to see the price of the new one as like the civic the OG was a proper bargain.
If you dont have your GR yet, and Toyota gave you a bell asking to swap to a build slot and its £39,999 watcha gonna do, watcha gonna do when they come for you?

Shouldn't you wait until middle age before you start messing around with facelifts? The GR Yaris only came out about 5 minutes ago (or am I so old I've lost track of the passage of time?)
Launched Q4 2020, so over three years now. Perfect time for a mid-life facelift/LCI/whatever.SweptVolume said:

2020 so in line with the refresh....Its burned on my mind as the now legendary 'fk it I am getting one to' thread of a gazzilion pagesWab1974uk said:

There are currently around 140 Yaris GRs for sale on Autotrader. Does that not strike anyone as quite a lot, given that this was originally a high-demand/halo product?
Are we seeing the signs of people who were speculating on values against cheap finances deals trying to get out?
Lots of cars for sale...must have right now attitudes but can't afford to buy one outright ...people moaning about waiting times, save-up you pennies like people had to do in the past and get you dream car.Are we seeing the signs of people who were speculating on values against cheap finances deals trying to get out?
